That was an interesting article, but to me it was a wish list. DeGrom needs to make it to the All-Star before any Cy Young talk.
How about we start with deGrom makes it to the All Star Break without an IL stint and work up from there.DeGrom needs to make it to the All-Star before any Cy Young talk.
Helm I can see; Taveras not so much. However Bochy and Young seem to have a plan.Rangers avoid arbitration with Heim and Taveras.
Taveras, Heim agree to contracts with Rangers
The Rangers have agreed to one year contracts with Jonah Heim and Leody Taveraswww.lonestarball.com
Still waiting on the Yates shoe to drop.
Viper, I've got to think that the Rangers are working this as hard as they can - Yates did a marvelous job for the team last year, and at his age he can be signed to a short-term contract for a reasonable price.Yates needs to be done; waiting for Spring Training is Russian roulette since he will get a call when the first closer goes down.
Victory Plus, the same service the Stars use but whereas Stars are free, Rangers are setting up packages. The only package we know for sure will be offered is $100 for a full season of all regular-season regional games. That's less than a dollar a game and a little over 16 dollars a month for the six months of the regular season. I'm not sure if it includes spring training games as media reports didn't address that.Rangers solve their tv issue. Waiting to see the particulars, but unlike the Mavs and Stars, it is going to cost.
That is the "stand-alone" price. From what I have been able to piece together, they are now talking to DirecTV, Prime, YouTube, Fubo, etc., to include the channel in their sports packages.Victory Plus, the same service the Stars use but whereas Stars are free, Rangers are setting up packages. Agree, FWHORN. The moves CY has made so far look very promising. They still need to address the closer. I hope they can sign Yates for a couple of years, but if not, they still need to find a dependable closer - and Spring Training is only 24 days away.Rangers 2025 starting lineup could be so dang good if the injury bug doesn't bite.
Agree, Viper. I'm not sure there is another alternative. Unless there's an internal candidate that we don't know, the Rangers should put a full-court press on signing Yates.Yates to anywhere except the Rangers is a loss for the Rangers.
They are approaching having the best player in MLB at everyposition. It must be nice when you do not have to worry about the luxury tax.Well, rats! ESPN saying that the Dodgers are nearing a deal to sign Yates. If so, the Rangers need to go into scramble mode to find a closer, and quickly - pitchers and catchers report on 12 Feb.
One possible answer is a salary cap - but the MLB Players' Association will never go along with that.Dodgers just signed Yates. This is the worst era for baseball since the steroid era. They are buying a World Series. It's pretty bad. I won't watch them play. Even when they're playing the Rangers. It's terrible for the game. A rich owner. BMD. It's a world of money and it has always been so. I hate it.
