We had a variation of that in baseball back in the 60s and maybe early 70s. The Yankees used Blinn and Sam Houston as farm teams. Give the parents cash, stash the players at one of those schools and move them to the pro side as needed.

Yup! Track and Baseball were in the same dorm. You could tell who the "favorite" baseball ones were.
