I haven't heard any of the teammates criticize the Deshon or Conner. I don't know if they felt "let down." Maybe they did; or not.Well they did let their teammates down by not playing.
I can't open the tweets. Taken down already perhaps?
Yeah they are deleted now as expectedI can't open the tweets. Taken down already perhaps?
That's funny..I went back and added almost the same thing verbatim at #9 prior to seeing ^this^#9 Tired of people reusing to take responsibility for their actions
Deshon is too slow and not physical enough to play S in the NFL. His near-Thorpe season was basically a handful of bad throws by QBs making him look like an All-Pro. He should have stuck around and improved, but it's kind of obvious who the "Chuck Strong" guys are versus the ones who want to actually make Texas better.
Good post, and I agree with your assessment, Horns. I believe you further my points about the foolhearted nature of Elliott's complaint - especially #9.Not to harsh anyone's "let's call out young entitled people" vibes, but I highly doubt a coaching staff would tell current players/recruits to stay away from Elliott because of his decision to leave early for the NFL and/or skip a bowl game... especially considering this came after a 4th of July party...
Sorry can't find a weed emoji.
And before anyone thinks that I'm an Elliott apologist, here's what I said about him back on 4/28:
I think his frustrations about being selected late in the draft have little to do with his twitter rant. I think he probably was doing things at the party that could have affected the eligibility of current players and that's why the staff stepped in and said what they did about him. So he went off.
Yet that player stayed for his senior season. We went from players tweeting about transferring during halftime to players trashing coaches on Twitter
He came really close to leaving also but like Elliott I don’t think either of them had enough game tape to make the leap but if he wanted to leave I wouldn’t have faulted him for it nor do I any of the other guys that went on to the next level. If they can sign up to go fight a war they can go make money as well.Yet that player stayed for his senior season.
