I found this site in 2000 while I was living in LA. I cannot say how much it meant to find a Texas Longhorn connection on the internet and here the UT sense of humor as expressed by the ironic Spider Ag, Mind Control Ag, Scipio Tex, Henry James and a number of other people who posted here.
I didn't register myself until Summer of 2001. My first post was about Earl Campbell. I was back in Austin.
Mine just passed 11/20/2002, although I lurked on here for a while prior to that. I was looking for a replacement once the old 360 Board bit the dust..
I still miss the old 360 Board sometimes because that was all that kept my sanity during my "Iowa Experiment".
I think the dates were reset with new software, an upgrade, or some other maintenance. If I had to guess, it was '98 or early '99 when I clicked on a link from austin360.
Actually Bob, the site crashed mightily at least 2 times in '99 and2000.
the 2nd crash was so bad that they had to start over- most of us who logged in at that time were forced to re-register and our post counts and log-on date were re-set
Can't remember when I first registered. It was several years ago. Without a couple of bans I would most likely have over 10,000 posts. I have become a kinder, gentler and more discreet poster since those days.
First time 98 or so, when the migration from 360 started, with our current hosts and LHB. Had a number of moves over those years and had to re-up a time or two.
10/7/2002, when David Carr was worth obsessing over. Though I used to be on before that under another name, when I was closeted and pretending to be straight.
I wonder if anyone has less posts versus time registered than me?
I remember someone telling me about this site in 1999 when simms was decommitting from Tennessee. Just like now, the site was crashing with heavy traffic.
Sometime around October 2000. I originally joined after the OU-UT game that year just to see what was being said and maybe to gloat a bit. Once I started reading the board, I realized gloating on a message board wasn't really my style. I have stayed and enjoyed the content of many of the boards on here. I don't post often (roughly 870 posts in 8 years), but I still like reading and contributing when I can.
12/20/2001, 7th year anniversary coming. I can't remember how I found this site. I think I was doing some porn search about Horny Longhorns or something......
I joined the same week as the bleacher debacle at the UH stadium after hearing about photos being posted on Longhorn fan site leading to several sections being condemned. I had a ticket in one of those condemned sections. After a quick search, I came across Hornfans.
