Your first guitar...

Bought a Squire Strat back in 97.

In college, I picked up an Ovation shallow body, blue twilight body accoustic.

Later in college, my old roommate gave me this old Daion acoustic that belonged to his mom before he took it. Believe it was buit in 79. A Japanese company.

2 years ago, I picked up a Larivee D-03E acoustic with L.R. Baggs pickups. this thing is my true baby.

Thinking of buying this electric guitar that my worship pastor is selling. It's a light blue, mexi-strat but with full custom electronics ... humbucker pickups, and some Piezo (sp?) accoustic pickups under the bridge.

Mine was a Guyatone electric. I got it when I was twelve and living on Guam. I played it until I bought a Les Paul Jr. from a guy on the drag for fifty bucks. I pawned both of them when I was in financial straits in my junior year at UT.

I'd been playing that Sears acoustic for about 1 1/2 years and was wanting a electric. Being 14, I was wanting to play rock 'n roll. A guy my dad worked with was playing in a church band and wanted to switch to an acoustic. Obviously, he had no idea of what it was worth as he sold it to me w/ the amp for $150. This was 1974 so obviously not what it is today but still. It was already well worn by the time i got it but it still holds a special spot 34 years later.

I had a student model nylon string guitar (can't remember the brand) that was quickly replaced by a '57 Gibson ES-125 about a week later. An uncle had a buddy that "needed some quick cash" and wanted $60 for it (in 1974). My dad gave him $30 and told him to come back for the rest the next week. He never came to collect the $$$ and I STILL have the guitar. I've owned several others since and am just down to the Gibson and a Cordoba cut-a-way flamenco-style nylon string. I love 'em both!!

Yes sir. That's a GREAT pic of an ES-125! Mine doesn't have the pick-guard though. I would love to get her restored at some point. She still plays but is in need of some sprucing up. i still get a kick out of telling the "paid $30 for it" story.

The guy from Hotclub of Cowtown plays one through a late 40's/early 50's amp. It is a cool set up. He is damn good.

hullabelew, if you're "logo sensitive", why would you even CONSIDER a Collings? That thing is horrid looking. (Great guitars, though.)

Yep. I almost posted this stuff when I was bitching about the 'flying G'. I hate those square head stocks, and some of the head stocks with the curve look like they are from a giant mandolin and look too big for the body. The head stocks on the electrics aren't bad looking.

By the way, their mandolins kick serious ***. I wish I could play well enough to justify buying one.

Yuck.
