You think stopping someone for ID is bad?

Civil liberties are not a liberal or conservative issue. It's funny how conservatives think some civil liberties are "common sense," but are only too willing to pull the civil liberty rug out from under those whose social issues they disagree with.
But yes, I can't believe the Michigan police can get away with this, it has to be unconstitutional.
 
I used to sport decals from both the ACLU and the NRA on my truck and thought it strange that people thought there was an inconsistency. Both groups can go to extremes but both are useful.

Thomas Jefferson preached that the key to liberty was how much independence a person enjoyed. We have a lot less now than we used to. It is for our own good, of course. According to the statists, anyway.

ACLU exists to constantly test fealty to the Constitution. Results be damned. Direct challenges to preserve what is our one true brilliant governing document.
 
What I want to know if, what happens when they do this to a criminal defense attorney and there is privileged client information on there? Seems like a bunch of cases could get thrown out for misconduct.
