Hall leads off and bunts and no one is covering first and it's another infield hit.
Hinojosa sac bunts him to second.
Payton pops out to third for out two.
Weis is hit by a pitch in the head area and is down as the trainer comes out to put two on.
Weis is being helped off the field and is bleeding. I am sure they want to look him over, it doesn't appear too bad, but you never know and they are now taking him back into the training room.
Carter comes in to pinch run for Weis.
Felts pops up to second to end the inning and strand the runners,.
Weis is walking on his own now as he goes back into the training room.
French out again in the eighth a ground out to second is out one.
A single to left past Carter puts a runner at first with one away.
Now the first walk of the game comes after a very close call on the pitch before that would have been strike three. It puts two on now and here comes Skip.
Here comes Knebel and another quality start could be wasted again if we can't score a run somehow. Of course Knebel needs to shut down this inning first.
Knebel and the first pitch is wild and the runners advance to second and third. The first WVU runner at third tonight.
The batter is walked on four pitches to load the bases.
Ball one way out of the zone brings Skip back out again for a conference to encourage strikes.
Knebel throws two strikes and then a fly ball to medium center scores the run as Hall and Gottsacker come together and the throw is not even made toward the plate.
B. Marlow leads off against Musgrave the starter who is still out there. He grounds one off the first baseman's glove and the pitcher doesn't get over in time to cover and it's another infield hit for the Horns.
Ty Marlow can't get the sac bunt down and then K's looking for out one.
Hall bloops a ball to center that the center fielders dives and can't get it for a hit to put two on.
HInojosa lines out to short and Marlow is too far off the bag and is doubled up 6U-3 for the inning ending double play.
A bad base running mistake to end the threat quickly as I can still hear my many baseball coaches saying to make the line drive go through.
NBHorn, thank you for all your game updates. I happened to attend the game tonight (painful), but I often read your threads late at night, long after the games have been played, and it's like listening to the game on the radio. So just because you don't have people interacting with you during the game itself, don't think that your efforts are for naught.
Dear lord......for someone who grew up watching Tolentino, Campbell, Owen, Brumley, Bates, Goldthorn, Hearron, Denny, Bryant, Clemens, Schiraldi, Cook, Killingsworth, Swindell......it's just depressing as hell to see how low Texas baseball has sunk.
