To a degree, sure. But a coach’s biggest influence on whether passes get caught is recruiting players who can catch.

Maybe it is the players, but these dudes were studs in High School.

Doesn't matter. Any receiver in the NCAA should be able to catch a wide open ball that hit's them in the numbers. Coaching shouldn't be required for that at this level.
