So Janet admitted to the Senate committe that DHS and FBI knew Tamerlan( the older LONE WOLF) had travelled to Russia last year
BUT BUT the FBI alert had expired by the time he got back so they didn't look into further?

PLEASE someone explain this. is there something in this that explains it in a way that they all don't look like jackasses?

Surely I am missing something. I hope so.
I will be glad to be wrong about what looks like sheer incompetence .
 
Once you get passed the sheer incompetence she admits to, on behalf of the FBI btw, sending the blame their way
once you get over shaking you head about thata you start to wonder how she didn't know how what she was saying sounded

and what signals she sent to any wacko islamist who is here already or who might want to come
don't worry MR islamist, the FBI won't track you for long then they will close the file

It's only been 95 days since the Jan 20th Inauguration. Seems like three years instead of three months. And a long way to go to Jan 20, 2017.
 
Russia alerted both the FBI and, later, the CIA about the older brother and we still fumbled the ball.

Apparently if they don't catch them with the bomb, lighting the fuse with a match, they won't do anything.
