Depends on your definition. If you're talking about biggest drop in quality, I'd go with "Temple of Doom." Biggest letdown: "Matrix 2". Worst example of "the screenplay's so bad, the lead won't come back, but we're going to build it around a supporting actor and hope people don't notice": Jurrasic Park 2.

Then there's the "didn't we say everything that needed to be said in the first installment?" category. I'd give that one to "Blues Brothers."

Finally, the "Oh, you don't think we could have done a worse job? Well, check THIS baby out!" category, that would be Pirates of the Caribbean III.

BTW, the Mummy II? I'm not saying it was great or anything, but it's not even in the same level with some of the films on this list. I would argue that the Matrix sequels aren't either, but they fall under the "disappointment" category.

Highlander II-The Quickening

But, in it's sole defense, it is a perfect example of how Sean Connery can make just about any piece of crap somewhat watchable.

caddyshack 2 is indeed the correct answer.

Biggest spread between how great the original was and how ****** the sequel was.

Die Hard 2 was the worst. They took something plausable and reasonable and legendary in Die Hard and jsut got a check written.

it was moronic. Anyone with a neck realized those planes could have been diverted ot any one of 100s of civilian or miltary airfields

It was just stupid
