Shane gets sacked 10+ times yesterday. Sam is not the problem. The OL is weak. No running game means Sam has to be perfect every week.

That's a weak argument when Sam is the most sacked QB in the B12. Sam likes to stand back there and bake a cake and wonders why the pocket keeps collapsing on him. I guess he's more worried about his completion % than negative plays due to sacks. Anyone that's watched Shane this year knows he's not afraid to throw it out of bounds to avoid a sack.

Maybe Shane wouldn't have made some of the runs Sam has made to keep drives going this year, but I would argue he would have fewer sacks.

I can agree with you on most of these points. The common denominator is the weak OL. Also, the RBs are not very good (no offense to RJ). Have you ever noticed that our RBs never run full speed (don't laugh) to the edge/corner. They always stop to make a cut. Just once, I wish one of the RBs would sprint to the edge and try to make the corner and turn up field.

I sometimes wonder if sometimes coaches try to fit a square peg in a round hole. Sam isn't running as effectively as he has in his first two seasons. Rib injury? Or are the coaches trying to groom him to be a better pocket passer and not run so much? Similar to VY, regardless of NFL asperations, it appears to hurt a team more than help it if the QB is used to running sometimes to get first downs, keeping the defense on the field, wearing them out, and THEN staying back in the pocket and making throws...

They are coached to run SLOW TO THE HOLE. Herman has said it himself. Sam nearly walks to the hole. This allows LBs and SS to fill and meet us in whatever hole the OL might open. EVERY run play is slow developing and within the tackles so teams can play in a field that is about 20 yards wide. Nearly all our passes are outside the hash so defenders only have to cover hash to sideline with the sideline being an extra defender. Its amazing our players have done what they have done in many games with the huge boulder that is Tom Herman's offense around their necks.
i doubt Jimmy Johnson's Dallas Cowboys' OL could succeed with this offensive scheme.

It makes me sick to think that as much money and resources Texas has, we are regressing every week.

Meanwhile, recruits are decommitting and players are asking to transfer.

Tom Herman has some decisions to make. Replacing his coordinators needs to be the first one he makes.

I just don't really care anymore. Went deer hunting for the first time in years, recorded the game, watched it this morning and turned it off. Better things to do in life.

This. I have been watching this “one step forward, one step back” **** for 10 years now. Waiting patiently for us to take two steps forward, without taking two steps back. I foolishly thought that we could control it by firing certain wrong persons and replacing them with the right persons.

At this point I am convinced most college football head coaches( especially those who are after the high profile jobs like ours) are charlatans and / or grifters. and Tom Herman is just another one of those.
