That's a weak argument when Sam is the most sacked QB in the B12. Sam likes to stand back there and bake a cake and wonders why the pocket keeps collapsing on him. I guess he's more worried about his completion % than negative plays due to sacks. Anyone that's watched Shane this year knows he's not afraid to throw it out of bounds to avoid a sack.Shane gets sacked 10+ times yesterday. Sam is not the problem. The OL is weak. No running game means Sam has to be perfect every week.
Maybe Shane wouldn't have made some of the runs Sam has made to keep drives going this year, but I would argue he would have fewer sacks.
