Women's Track

A couple of things.... Chapple is done, her eligibility outdoors is completed. The reason I didn't include Lee in my outdoor 4x400 discussion is frankly (my opinion only) I think she peaked early in her career
(52 second quarters in HS) and I'm not sure she'll ever recover the form needed to run on the relay for NC's. I'd love for her to prove me wrong, and I know she was battling nagging injuries, but just my take. I'm in wait and see mode with Jasmine. I think Kincy ran on the Indoor Nat'l Championship relay based on neccessity (who else is there) the freshman jumper Malone was the alternate. Hopefully again Temeka can get back down to 52 second form because LaTavia Thomas (whose a Soph at LSU) had just won the Indoor National 800 meters in 2:05 and then turned around and ran a 52.5 on the 3rd leg of their 4x400 so it can be done.

If everything turns out well we'll stay injury free, Lee will come back with a vengence and have an impact in the 400 meters and the 4x400. Anderson, & Knight will continue to be record breakers, and Bayne can finish her career as a National Champion.

We wish Knight success as a pro but these type of things hurt us in the NC hunt as well as help the Aggies in the Lone Star Cup. It seems the Aggies keep their track team athletes for 4 years.

Of course if the Aggies have great women athletes in track and field they may lose some of them early to the pros. We will see.

The lady Aggies came down here to the Texas Invitational and made the meet look like their own personal practice meet. Blowing away the competition, and setting NCAA and world leader marks in the process. Most of the young ladies who took the track for the "home team" looked like they have a loooooong way to go just to be decent, it was frustrating to watch. (Anderson, Bayne, Kincy, Lee did not compete that I saw.)

A&M made themselves at home during the Texas Relays, as well.

Sadly, we couldn't even put together a group of sprinters to run in the 4x100 relay on our own track.

Track Rankings so far:

A&M Men - #1

A&M women - #3

This is getting sad. Them luring away Pat Henry is working wonders. They could win both NCs.

I don't see how the aggroid men jumped up to #1 for outdoor season. Aggroid teams somehow find a way to underachieve even when ranked higher than Horn teams.

The incoming frosh are putting up great numbers!!! I expect them to keep improving too.

Julie Amthor - 800m 2:12.89 / 1600m 5:03.10
Angele Cooper - Indoor results 400 m 57.64 m / 200m 24.43 (IShe's injured and not sure if she ran any outdoor meets)
Jessica Doyle - PV 13-04
Victoria Lucas - HJ 6-0.25
Alex Pegram - 100 m 11.69 / 200m 23.69
Stacey-Ann Smith - 100 m 11.85 / 200m 23.99
Ashley Starks - 100H 14.82 / 300H 42.42
LaKeidra Stewart - 100m 11.44 / 200m 23.26
Amanda VanDyke - Dis 135-0 / SP 45-11.0

Not a bad class I must say! Who knows, they might not be done too w/ this class

We have a good sprinter coming to Texas next year if she can get everything in place. We are going to be tough next year in the 4x100 Relay.I cant wait!

The Lady Aggies seem to be on a mission at Big 12 Conf. Meet outdoors, and that's a huge under statement. They are not only dominating events, but breaking records, so far they've broken records in the 4x100, 100, 400 with more to come
