Last night we cleaned up. Gold in speed skating, Gold & Silver in women's downhill skiing, and Gold (by Shaun White) in the snowboard half-pipe.

It gladdens my heart to know that my birthday gave the USA Olympic team such a lift that they went out and won five medals!

They showed all of 20 minutes and 6 skiers for the Mens Downhill, which to me is the premier event in the Olympics.

The fact that a bunch of sequined fairies will get 20x more coverage tells me I am not the intended audience and I will act accordingly.

When is the opening kickoff again? Harumph.

Just finished watching Slovakia take down Russia in great hockey game. Watched the snowboard half pipe last night. Watched some of the speed skating the last couple of days. Can't get into figure skating at all though.

Haven't watched much at all, but I was glad to see the American win the men's figure skating, if only because the Russian Plushenko seems like a real *******.
