Will MO's comments cost votes?

Will Michelle Obama's recent comments about pride in country cost her husband votes?

I could give a **** about whether a spouse made a gaffe or not. Or even to a large extent how much she believes it. But many gaffes are overlooked and lots aren't. Will this one?

The appropriateness or inappropriateness of the comments are another thread. Will it play or be forgotten?

another thread on this ********? was 8 pages not enough?
considering Obama is prob going to be sitting on 10 in a row
after tonight...and prob a Texas win from knocking Hillarys *** out... I doubt it

if people read what she actually said she wasnt even saying she has never been proud of her country. it seems some idiots can figure that out though

Im sure Mr Wizard will be in soon to claim its some huge deal again though

Yes. A big one, especially with women. First ladies matter to them a lot. The female Obama voter in my immediate family, the one that you know, said her main hesitation in voting for BO was that she didn't trust Michelle and thought she was too extremist/militant.

IMO, spouses are indeed relevant to some degree. Nobody really knows what the major challenges facing the next POTUS will be (how many of us thought in '00 that Bush's presidency would be defined by 9/11 and Iraq?). Part of what we're electing is judgment. Among the most important decisions a person makes is whom to marry. It does say something.

Of course, that's mostly going to matter to swing voters, who are largely poorly informed and disengaged anyway, so who knows what impact it'll make.

I call aggy boycott.

For the Obama voters in the crowd, his pandering to the lowest common denominator is showing in this thread. The first word in Tahoe's post is not "Should." YWIA.

Doesnt matter who the Dems put up? LOL! Forget Obama people in here...You do realize a great MANY political analysts wouldnt even agree with that right? nor the current national polls. Even if you think McCain can win...calling it over at this point lacks in all reality. Its going to be a tough race.

First time voter? Uh no. I'm much older than that. Dont worry...I dont think much of your views either. Funny you mention any of us assured of Victory when you have been claiming for awhile now that McCain has it won and its basically over no matter who he faces. Who are you to call anyone arrogant? try reading some of the stuff you have thrown out around here.

Don't pay any attention to Laphroaig10. He's an SEC homer who has thrown as much BS on football as the stuff thrown out around here. One has to be pretty clueless to think McCain of all people has things wrapped up in the national election. That is just dumb

Again, I apologize that I am a Democrat who does not believe in Obama, but I do not think it plays out in the primaries at all.

The Nov. election is a different matter. No matter how trivial something like the statement seemed , it gets blown up 100x during a campaign season.

Only if Michelle doesn't shut the hell up. It was a staggeringly stupid thing to say, showed a lack of judgment, and gives merit to claims of their campaign being amateurs. It plays well to the left wing audience that dominates the modern Democratic party, but is a major turn off to most people.
