Will Josh be staying with the Rangers after all

A very interesting read and one that makes sense.

If the Rangers can get him for value money and not overpay i would certainly view it as a good move. i dont see the Rangers outbidding the Dodgers for Greinke as much as I would love for him to anchor the staff.

Spring training is just a few months away and with my wife, daughter and I moving back to the metroplex in January looking forward to seeing a lot more games in person next season!

Stay or go, this team will be much different than current.
News today has Michael Young rumored to be in trade talks with Philly in exchange for reliever and salaried $$ removed.

"Reports" also say the Dodgers have all but conceded Greinke to the Rangers - and further state that the Rangers may sign both Zach and Josh. Guess we'll see.

Greinke has signed with the Dodgers which now makes it even m ore likely Josh stays in Arlington especially with Young having been traded. I guess we will see but right now its got to be about 70-30 Josh stays and for a good price.

Hard to see how the wounds of Hamilton's immature actions at the end of last season can be healed. Beltre will have a say in this.

Grienke, Upton and Hamilton was too much to hope for. Looks like now maybe it will be one of the three. That will give the Rangers a budget they can manage without drawing 3 million+.

Ron Washington with the best quote on losing Michael Young: "If there was crying in baseball, I'd be crying." Instant classic.

glad the Rangers didn't pay him 125 mil over 5 years. That is too much for 120 games a year.(give or take some)

He did have the series winning hr only to have the D collapse and deny him that destiny. Good luck to you Hambone. Stay safe in the Greater LA area. Just strike out a lot against Texas.

Angels have deep pockets. Hamilton gets 5 years for $125 million when they signed Pujols to 10 years $240 million a little over a year ago. When does it stop? lol

Too much money for a player who will be injured a lot and in LA will have a lot more temptation to go back to bad habits. No Young and no Hamilton, it will be an interesting time in Arlington this year especially early on.

I really thought this would be what happens with JH - I will miss him Good luck Josh and thanks for the memories!

I'm with Woo....Thanks for the memories, Josh

As for the Halo's, they'll have 2 great yrs probably out of him, then major drama and poor AB's in the clutch for the last 3 yrs of the contract....and those last 3 yrs will be very very painful in Anaheim.

I'm looking at this as a glass half full. The last 3 yrs we've had great lineups, but lost out on winning a WS....The teams that DID win the WS in those years had (a) rock solid pitching staff, (b) timely hitting, 2 of the 3 years there was no superstar in the lineup for the winners.

Don't need a Josh to win....what we do need is at least one more quality starter, and 2 more dependable Pen guys.

With the whole "life story of Josh Hamilton" movie news floating around, it makes more sense he would look at a team in California and the Angels.

i'm pretty much in a concede mode for 2013....Glass half full guys, it just wasn't meant to be as far as 2013 goes. Just do the best we can, reload with FA's and such for 2014.

Have to 'keep the positivity goin' as Dixon Edwards used to say. Bumpy times ahead, but better days beyond.
