Why aren't there bare foot kickers anymore?

as someone who is not a former kicker in American football, but rather a player of futbol, the turf comments make no sense. I'm pretty sure I remember playing indoor futbol with boots made for turf..... Of course you don't wear an outdoor futbol boot on astroturf... you wear a turf boot.
I don't have an answer, but why wouldn't kickers wear an indoor futbol boot on turf. I still wear indoor turf boots.....

It's much more of a struggle to retain balance as a football kicker than it is as a soccer player. The reason being with extra weight and movement restrictions that come with the pads. That's why the risk of rolling an ankle is much more remote to soccer player than it is a football player. The two are not comparable.

I still think barefoot kicking was a fad, like taping your shoes or those white threadlike things players wrap around their biceps now.
