Why are you guys so pissed at the Scott situation?

Seriously. What the hell has fired up the UNiversity President (allegedly), the coaching staff (Mack and Kennedy), the tools over at Orangebloods (Suchemel and Ketchum) and seemingly 95% of Longhorn blogs and message boards?

The kid went where his mother directed him. Is that really all that hard to understand and accept? You lost on on Scott and probably locked up the kid from Madisonville in the Class of 2009 (who I think is better).

I don't get it. Sometimes you just gotta let go.

I mean, seriously?? Have you not read anything on here?? Nothing at all?

I don't know where Mack or Kennedy said anything specific about the situation. I hope they are at least a little upset at losing a 5 star RB.

The fans are the fans and this is a message board. Why is texags so upset about losing S Johnson to ISU? The answer is because that is what CFB message boards are for.

As far as president getting involved (if he really even is) then there might actually be something really fishy going on.

i think your question, in this case, is the answer. we've seen enough of these go down to know when something smells a little strange. so many people are making a fuss, because something strange has likely gone on. too much smoke.

Everyone loses recruits.

We are in an uproar because there seems to be an issue of cheating. But then, you knew that.

and are you asking why tools are acting like tools in regards to OB?

jesus, just look at how many threads there are on just freakin Sam McGuffie on texags the past few days. At least Scott is worth the crying over.

I think the anger is mostly attributable to:
1) Appearance of possible cheating by CU
2) Need at running back
3) Cumulate frustration with signing day whiffs on out of state recruits

Honestly, this would be a non-issue for me if Mack did not specifically allude to cheating. He has not done this before. If he is concerned, so am I.

Its a story during the offseason. You have to admit its more than a kid choosing one school over another.

Not sure I'm "pissed" yet, just interested in all the stories that are coming out. The DMN and the NYT think there is a story here, why shouldn't we discuss it?

Last I checked, aggy is in the Big 12. Shouldn't they be in favor of getting to the bottom of the Scott situation? Doesn't aggy have a vested interesting in ensuring that a conference opponent isn't possibly getting away with buying a player and gaining an unfair competitive advantage?

I'm not pissed at all.

But it must be something good if Mack is pissed about it. And especially good if he's got the pres ringing up another pres about it.

I wrote this to sum up my feelings. I hope you like it:

If you love something, set it free. If it comes back to you, it's yours. If it doesn't, it never was.

Bundy, I rarely post, but always enjoy your insight. While I agree with some of your sentiment, you know good and well that Texags would be in a tremendous uproar right now if they had a 5* recruit that verbally committed to coaches twice and was robbed at the last second. Scott >>> McGuffie, and particularly with so many references to cheating.

Agreed that it also sounds shady. Personally, if the kid or parents were bought, then I wouldn't want him either. Too much risk of trouble down the line....
