I have a feeling that they are going to be slow in coming now. Regardless we are going to have another awesome class even if we don't get any more but hopefully we will.

I don't have any idea, but I do know that you'd have to be a fool to not want to come and live in the best city in Texas and play with the incredible amount of talent that Mack is assembling in this class.

I wouldn't complain on that coolhorn and I hope you are right. I would like to get one more Linebacker though. I agree with you on the out of staters. Generally the longer they wait the less our chances are based on the past.

my shot in the dark is that if wilson commits to us, he'll be in the next couple. if we dont see him in the next couple of our commits, then he prob wont commit to us.
i would be excited as hell iwth mathews

Jeffcoat
Seastrunk
Cobbs
Matthews
Wilson
Nelson

This is the group that I think we have a shot at (even if it is shaky). I would like to think that we would take all of them if possible, but most likely it will be 2 or 3 at best. I left Reed off of this list because I dont think we have a shot at him. The rest are still a possibility, but I really dont know for sure. My best guess is that we have the best shot at landing Matthews and Wilson.

It would be easier to speculate if we knew how many we were ultimately going to take. If there are only 2 or 3 spots left, then the guys who don't want to be left out will have to make a move. If its 4 or 5 more, then maybe the concern about missing out is less urgent. Some of the prospects on that list may assume they will have a spot saved for them, no matter how many others we take and maybe they're right. I see the world through burnt orange glasses, but I would hate to miss out on being a member of this recruiting class if I were in their position.

I didn't list Hicks because I considered him a real longshot and I still do. That being said, I think we will take at least one more linebacker. If he says yes sometime soon, we might just go for it. I know Boom likes him and is recruiting him.

Did you just watch that video? UT was his favorite team growing up according to what he said in that interview. Out of state or not, that is a strong thing to have in your favor. Especially when you consider what all Texas has in their favor as opposed to other schools (city, talent, stable head coaching situation, etc.)

Jordan's highlights are very impressive. Apparently he likes running people over and/or jumping on top of scared QB's in full retreat. Either way, this kid would do well at the 40 acres.

First, what exactly was so "funny" about the drills? Seems like Mack and Co. do a pretty decent job of coaching up their players.

Second, I was a huge Oilers and Bruce Matthews fan growing up, but if this is true, he sounds like a grade A douche. You're on a visit courtesy of Mack Brown and you laugh at his style/technique/coaching ability? Go ahead and disagree with how they do things, but keep it to yourself and discuss it with your kid at home.

I don't get Bruce Matthews' alleged amusement at the UT blocking scheme.

We're not running a pro set offense here. We are a spread offense. As for what our offensive linemen are being taught, it must be something worthwhile, since we seem to produce a lot of NFL-quality linemen.

This is NOT to say that Jake Matthews wouldn't be welcome here...I'd love to see him commit to the good guys. However, if him and his dad came up last weekend on UT's nickel just to make fun of our coaching staff, then probably he wouldn't be happy here.

It's been said on another thread that the Matthews family is looking for some alternative that would allow Jake Matthews to play around here, so the folks can watch him. Maybe they'll like the Shermanator's "pro-style" teaching better...as long as the younger Matthews is not hooked on winning. There's something to be said for good manners when somebody else is footing the bill.

We need to wait until we have more confirmations and informations regarding the practice rumors. Let's not jump the gun on what could be misunderstandings or other pertinent factors. We must keep our cool and play it cool and wait. Remember - Focus.

I didn't take those comments about Matthews' visit as a joke. If it was an attempt at humor, it's far too subtle for me.

I don't think Scipio was joking either and, unfortunately, the description of what occured seems entirely plausible. If true, it's a damn shame.

Offensive schemes has evolved in college game. I don't think it's fair to criticize our scheme. We have a top 5 offense in college last year.
