who is the new number one?

I agree that USC should be penalized for losing to an unranked 1-2 team. But it won't happen. I also think they will be about #7-8 in next week's polls.

The new number 1 team will be....

PENN STATE. They beat Oregon State 45-17. It CAN'T be that USC is bad.... so they will anoint Penn State as the #1 team.

Oregon State will obviously be the new number one team. They beat the team that could beat an NFL team, they are better than the best team of all time-how could they not be number one? Come on, you guys are just not thinking.

that game last night just further reminds me that we are one crappy performance away from losing our chance as well. we lay a turd or some team just comes to play and whips our ***. it can happen to anyone. osu came out fired up last night. reminded me of when we played west virginia last year. they were CLEARLY playing with more intensity than we were.

so yeah, we have a bad *** team this year. one of the best all around teams ever at ou, and that is saying something. but in this day and age of cfb.... you stink it up for a half and you might just get beat.

not to mention just the overall good teams on our schedule. it doesn't appear we can overlook any team on this schedule except maybe, maybe, aTm.... but even that one is at their place. as good as we are, i'm thinking we are going to drop one too. there may be no undefeated teams in the championship again.

RE this Yogi Roth guy -

I really like the fact they don't even put his photo on the website. If you are remotely correct about his role, Soviet, that is pretty damn funny (and the YouTube is funny too).

Trojans upset by the raucous Beavs last night... gawd I love college football. Until Mon. USC will remain #1, then the new #1 will be ou unless the mighty Frogs upset them, which I doubt will happen.

Nonetheless: GO FROGS!

I think the biggest thing this changes is opens up the BCS championship to other potential one-loss teams. Before USC laid the egg last night, it was almost conceded that they occupied one of the spots. That meant one of the champions of the SEC or Big 12 (or even Penn St. if they could run the table) might be on the outside looking in.

Now, it's anybody's ball game. Win your conference, even with a loss, and you have a legit. argument to make it to the BCS championship. I think that's particularly important to the Big 12 and SEC where it is likely that the champion will suffer an in-conference loss.

I will be shocked if the Chosen Ones fall below an undefeated Texas. Mark May will threaten all media with physical violence if necessary.

Unless Texas wins by 50+ they may still be looking up at the left coast boys come next Tuesday. Two commentators already said this morning they thought petey's boys should be no lower than 7. By next week they should be able to justify a much higher ranking for them.

ahahahhahahahhahahah you guys are absolutely brutal on SC today. Classic.

Austin Badger lololololol yes it's true, his role is evident, you watched the clip. Now if you watch any SC games from here on out, watch who Sanchez runs to if he goes over to the sidelines.

Like I said the youtube clip is a classic, we've had a lot of fun with that one over the past year. My favorite is when Booty tells Coach Yogi his finger hurts. Yogi says "just put some tape on it"

If you recall, that was the game where our idiot group of coaches decided to leave a QB in who had a broken finger on his throwing hand.

Nope...given the Trojan love out there, I figure SC drops no lower than five, and still basically has a hall pass to grab one of the two spots in the championship game. Why? They're SC.

Let me throw this question out. If we were already in the BCS rankings, where do you think they would rank in the BCS where computers and people are considered?
