Who has the best breakfast tacos?

I bought a dozen from Habanero's (Oltorf St.) for myself and the few braves souls who came in to the office on Christmas Eve...not too shabby. I'm not really a breakfast taco afficionado, so I wanna hear some opinions. Also, give some indication of $$$. I wasn't too thrilled to be paying $16 for 12 tacos, as I am used to paying $5 for two dozen Krispy Kremes.

i like the breakfast tacos at tamale house, but their migas and huevos rancheros are better

"migas are made by angels, but huevos rancheros are more fun" - the quitters

The Grande at Juan in a Million's on East Cesar Chavez. It's like $1.50 (maybe a little more now) for the most gigantic breakfast taco you'll ever eat. Most people order one grande with three or four tortillas, so you're looking at under $10 for a dozen tacos.

i'll have to second juan in a million. i dont normally care for potato on my breakfast tacos, but for some reason i love theirs. that and your meal comes with the most kick-*** handshake youll ever receive courtesy of juan himself.

Ken's is badass. < 2 bucks buys a 4 or 5 ingredient giant burrito.

I'll second the vote for Taco Express as well.

Tamale House tacos are good, but for some reason it's like Chinese food with me, I'll be hungry in 2.5 hours after eating.

Burger Tex on 183 has pretty tasty ones as well.

Ken's are great, but then again we don't buy breakfast tacos very often. Sure is a tight squeeze getting in & out of Ken's at 7am.

Taco Shack is good, but on the expensive end of breakfast tacos. They do have specials, though. They have a good product.

Whataburgers are hard to beat.

Cisco's or Nan's (spell?)

Kens and Taco Shack both hit the spot...I also like that avacado breakfast taco at Magnolia. I forgot the name of it, but it slams.

Taco Shack is always good, especially when it is cold outside. I have their phone # saved in my cell phone. I make the call, and they are ready when I get there. No lines to mess with.

Did you really like the tacos from Habanero? That place is walking distance from my house and I almost never go there. I tried it twice and was not impressed.

I will cast my vote for Juan in a Million as well. I make it a point in every trip I make to Austin. The "Don Juan" Taco is the greatest thing I have ever seen.

Ken's is my pre UT game ritual. Get the chorizo.

Downtown, I love the ones in the basement of the Secretary of State (1019 Brazos). Big and Cheap - like my women. I figured I'd say it before any of you did.

Las Palapas in San Antonio, on Blanco road, across from Churchill High School.

Gone to Texas is a chump, Juan in a million is VERY overrated. It's very avg. food but it's damn cheap. Eggs and potatoes isn't that hard to do. It's all price.

Thats all we mean Gordon...is that JiaM is cheap...no one says it is the best food. But it is a very good deal, and you are guaranteed the best handshake from the owner with your meal.

Rudy's BBQ has some awesome Taco's. You can even get a chopped beef Taco

Another of my favorite places with some very LARGE tacos is Bob Smiths BBQ in Bee Caves at the juncture of 2244 and 71. Bob's tacos are the bomb!!!

compaired to either of these!!

Ken's Tacos are pretty damn good. also like Alonzo's Tacos, well i like their burger, fries and drink for $1.99 more.

Ken's on Cameron Road just north of Rundberg next to 7-11. Their Tacos are the largest in town, there is NO BETTER DEAl than their daily lunch special... $4.75 sub sandwich (stuffed), drink and some of those cajun chips.

the very BEST TASTING breakfast Tacos can be found at Dario's down out East 6th Street. Those things are heaven! 2 potato egg and cheese and 1 chorizo egg and cheese!!!!

Jardin Corona on Pond Springs in NW Austin has some great tacos--huge, great-tasting, and cheap!

I can't believe some of y'all said Whatahell! They use powdered eggs, gross cheese, crumbled up hash browns for potato, cumbled dried-up patties for sausage, take forever to get, and they are expensive compared to just about antwhere else!

The Burnet Road Burrito at Taco Shack is worth trying.
