Who does Jonathan Gray remind you of?

He looks shot out of a cannon on every play. Speed, speed and more speed. He reminds me of Warrick Dunn of FSU past.

he's better than Warrick was at this stage. I don't really know, i think we'll be comparing backs to him when he''s done. He has a little Jamaal Charles but his vision is what separates him.

His skill set reminds me of Romonce Taylor because he has receiving skills and is shifty with great open field vision and cutback ability. It's going to be awesome to see him in Harsin's offense with Malcolm Brown. Didn't Harsin show some two back sets during the spring game?

Tony Dorsett. He's one of those guys who, when he takes the handoff, for just a moment, you think he's taking it to the house....every time.

Frieking cool comments...Jesus I can't wait to see this guy and Brown on the same team. If he ends up better than Warrik we'll win another NC.

For me, the highlights are more in line with Ramonce Taylor.
Gray's legs look short; he doesn't have the track speed stride of a Jamaal Charles.

When I hear that a guy is maybe the best in the nation, best in the state for a few years, and coming here, my hopes shoot up to Earl Campbell, Adrian Peterson, Herschel Walker, Bo Jackson, Marcus Dupree, Ricky Williams. Jonathan Gray doesn't look like the freaks of nature those guys were.

I see more of Jacquizz Rogers or Noel Devine, but a little bigger. And hey, that's way way better than what we have had lately.

He definitely looks like he's got a quicker shift into high gear than Brown has. Probably not as powerful a runner, but you could definitely see when he saw a seam and switched on the afterburners.

Whoever said Tony Dorsett struck gold. I didn't think of him. At this stage he is eerily similar to TD. Can't allow myself to dream he can be that talented. ..

Uh, you mean Johnathan Gray?

If that's who you are talking about, I will agree with the "TD" crowd. Touchdown Tony Dorsett...

"Johnathan?" I guess so; I sure saw it the other way a lot.

While you're on it, "Whom" does he remind you of? No wait, "Of whom" does he remind you?

He glides like Dorsett and has very similar vision.

He isn't as fast.

Once he is in the open field he looks just like his dad running, but his initial moves at the LOS remind me of Ced's HS videos. Ced developed a jump cut once he got to Texas (and we started ZRing it), and I really haven't noticed that. Maybe it's the #32, but he reminds me so much of Ced at the LOS.

Dude. Just watched youtube of him. He never gets touched. Ever. He's shifty AND direct. I don't want to call that "vision" but super anticipation. He makes cuts a half second before you would see other good rbs do it. He's his own misdirection play.

He's fast too. J Charles.

EDITED: Yes. a bit of Vince.

WOW!!!!

Some of the guys we have been bitchin about had these same type of threads. Gilbert????

Lets wait til we see him play with the big boys before we annoint him with holy water. World of difference between D1 ball and high school ball, I dont care what level of HS ball you are playin. Personally, I hope he has a stellar carreer at UT.

something else.

some horn fans are not familiar with la marque rb tim wright, who some people feel like may be the second-best or maybe even best rb in texas for the 2012 class. wright is fast and athletic and runs hard with the body lean you like to see. you can really see what people like in the two aledo/la marque youtubes.

he's a great player, too. lot of good hs running backs in texas this year.

He doesn't remind me at all of benson. Too quick and agile. Benson was never close to a speedster. I think he brings more to the position then speed which was Ramonce's calling card.

I would say he reminds me of ....... I would say Clinton Portis is a good comparison.

agssuk and Longtex,

I took the OP's question more of what style runner, not the success of those RB's. Some of you guys need to chill out.

He reminds me of a guy with the first name James. I can't remember the guy's last name, but he played Trimble Tech and I think Texas Tech in the late 80s.
