Where will DGB go?????

DGB-all along, proximity has been announced as a major consideration, due to family issues. I respect that, and for that reason, I would be pleasantly surprised to hear DGB announce for Texas. I think he really likes the Horns, though.

WestGAHorn,

So if you had to put it in percentages of everyones chances what would you think? I know it's impossible to know because there is no right or wrong answer.

My guess would be

Missouri 60%
Texas 30%
Ark 10%
OU 0%

I35 - I can see why you'd go with those numbers especially after some of the chatter that has come out the last few days. I honestly think it's MUCH MUCH closer than most people think. If you're asking me, it's a two horse race and Texas has it by a nose.

Texas 50% - Proximity really the only con
Mizzou 45% - Proximity really the only pro
Arky 5% - Already offering his ship to another wr
OU 0% - Already notified they've been eliminated

Odd as it sounds, I've got an idea that DGB legitimately doesn't know yet what school he's gonna name in the morning. Anybody that says they do know is talking through their rear end.

I make the percentages Mizzou 55 percent and the good guys 45 percent, and everybody else SOL.

WestGAHorn,

I really hope your odds are spot on and more importantly he goes with the odds.

PLEASE DGB pick the good guys.

I'm going to continue on with this thread till something substantial breaks... obviously WestGA and/or I-35 is getting some good info and I'll be able to add to it... between us we should have it covered!

This is what I've read in the last hour and confirm what's been written above about ar-Kansas offering another WR.

*Rumor has (from Hookem.com guys) that Blow U has been called and they are out of it!
*Texas nor ar-Kansas coaches (from their side) have been called with any info. So at this point, it's still a 3 horse race until DGB starts making the calls to inform of his decision, which some believe he will do.
*Texas has been in touch with them last eve & this a.m.

It's a little more than 14 hours till NSD begins... tick, tock

You guys are leaving out another set of odds. What are the odds that DGB waits a few days, weeks, or even couple months to announce his decision? All three schools will keep a ship open for him, and it allows DGB to evaluate them in spring ball. Presumably he wouldn't mind getting a look at Ash, and a look at the potential 2013 QBs for Arky.

Clearly, this is just more speculation, but didn't a top athlete do this a year or two ago?

misirlou,

Normally I think that could be an option. But ESPN is setting up for the announcement and carrying it live so I think if he still wasn't sure that he would notify them and he would go ahead and announce that he needs more time. I can't see him announcing he needs more time when he is suppose to announce his decision.

Of course I guess anything is possible.

I was implying what the Cigar had told Jesus had made it's way to Hookem.com... the info!

It apparently isn't looking good at the moment! The Texas Staff has not gotten a call, BUT... word coming from Springfield, MO is that the parents prefer Mizzou... and DGB is liking ar-Kansas!! Go figure...

As always, the info provided by Hookem.com as of 6:00pm!!

Geez, grown men (& women) acting like teenage girls over DGB. What's the world coming to?

My wife thinks I'm outta my mind. And of course, she is correct.

H-D, thank you for the explanation. It has been a long day and everything has to be spelled out in simple words for me.

As always, I appreciate your posts and information.

Well...word is leaking out that the Texas coaches have gotten the call. Best of luck to wherever DGB decides to play. As much as i dislike Arky, i think he has a much better chance to showcase his talent there. Playing at Mizzou puts his career at risk every route he runs on that mosh pit of a field.

Well, if the parents prefer Mizzou and he prefers Arky, then the obvious compromise is Texas. I can't believe that this is even a debate but football recruiting is a funny thing. I don't understand the proximity issue at all. Uh, SKYPE, dude. Have the folks attend home games and bowl games. Heck, move to Austin. What keeps people in **** places like Springfield in beyond me. None of it makes much sense to me.

Anyone thinking that there may be a Plan B now that the coaches know that DGB is not coming? Considering we were 3 for 3 on convincing last weekend's visitors to flip, I wouldn't be at all surprised to hear about someone else having a late change of heart. I have a hunch some calls will be made tonight through the back channels with some feelers being put out to see if anyone might be having second thoughts about their commitments.

Family ties and proximity to family are a higher priority to some people.....just some of the values that make us all different...

Have to say i can't blame him for wanting to stay closer to home. Family is obviously of importance so you can't blame him. All you can do is wish him luck. Sure i'd love to see him at Texas and there are a so many reasons why you would pick Texas over Mizzou but the one that matters most is the one that we can't compete with.
