Where are the tea party and militiamen??

We have guys that are willing to go to the border to point guns at children, guys fighting the Feds on land out west, and people at rallies all over the US for almost a decade now supporting the constitution. But they are nowhere to be seen when a police department goes rogue and shits on the constitutional rights of hundreds of people. There are too many examples to list. I am not defending the looters but peaceful protesters have been gassed and arrested. Journalists have been assaulted and arrested only to later be released with no explanation. Surely the tea party is there to fight for the constitution right?

Selective reverence for the Constitution (which actually means no reverence at all) is common on both sides. The Left ignores the Tenth Amendment almost entirely, while taking the Commerce Clause and the 14th Amendment to an absurd degree of broadness. The Right throws a **** fit if someone wants to restrict firearm ownership but is indifferent to (and sometimes strongly supportive) of virtually nullifying the 4th, 5th, and 7th Amendments. It's all agenda-driven *********. Neither side has a principled respect for the Constitution.

I 100% agree that both sides are selective ******** that pick and choose when to care about the constitution. But I only see conservative groups holding rallies and campaigning on defending the constitution. For a while Facebook was almost unusable for me because of the right wing propaganda cluttering my news feed, much of it based on Obama shitting on the constitution (which he has in some ways, but that's a different thread). Since they care so much, where are they now? It's easy to hold rallies in front of the Texas Capitol about Obama but it would actually mean something to act when **** is actually going down.

I think what you're getting at is the race/socioeconomic aspect of the whole thing. If Cliven Bundy protestors had been gassed and arrested, the Tea Party would have been all over that. But since it's North St. Louis in a place where the population has gone from 73 percent white in 1990 to 29 percent white in 2010, the right-leaners know that it's not their home territory. So people who don't vote red, although they have constitutional rights, really aren't worth the trouble.

Larry, I almost never post, but felt the need on this one. Do you really expect all people to flock to St. Louis?

Its a racial charged situation and people are undestandably very upset. I can remember many other instances in the past where there were riots due to an issue involving race and it's fairly common for innocent people to be hurt or killed.

Do you remember Rodney King?? How many people were killed during those riots?? A quick check showed that 41 people were shot. How many of the victims were white or hispanic?? How many of those do you think were against the Rodney King beating??

My point is that the situation is inherantly dangerous for any R leaning group regardless of how much they support Michael Brown.

Isn't the FBI and Department of Justice investigating this? Do you really believe more people need to go there and burn down businesses and loot stores?

Others have also tried to connect the Tea Party to this and I am really not sure why.

If the kid was shot for no reason, the police officer should and will be punished. The current protests are only harming the situation and taking away from the investigation.

Burning down businesses and looting stores are not civil liberties. There is nothing racist about it.

It appears that peaceful protests are being high jacked by thugs. As a result of these happening at the same time, the police are in a terrible situation. Should they just abandon the city?

Sending in militia would not help the situation.

My point is that conservative groups get up in arms about constitutional abuses that fit their political agenda such as the second amendment but ignore egregious violations when it doesn't. Media members being forced to turn cameras off, being tear gassed, and arrested then released with no explanation. To me, their ignoring of this situation gives away their moral high ground on constitutional issues and I will lump them in with the dems who only use the constitution when it fits their agenda. You can argue that it's not convenient or safe for a bunch of people to go to the scene but that has never stopped them from having rallies across the nation in protest of things going on in DC.

Remember when one white kid was told by his school on Cali not to wear an American flag shirt? Outrage all over the internet and rallies in California in protest. Black kid gets shot by the cops, peaceful protesters and media gassed or arrested and we get silence from the same groups that were convinced that America was going to hell over a t-shirt. I'm not calling them racist but I think their priorities are out of whack.

The liberal hypocrisy is cranked up full scale today on HF.

Pointing out that the tea party is not demonstrating in Missouri is equivalent to pointing out Al Sharpton is not demonstrating on behalf of those targeted by the IRS.

The biggest fallacy is equating the Tea Party to Militias, but that is a convenient MSNBC talking point as witnessed by resident liberal talking head R35.

larry?
Can you cite a source showing militiamen at the border pointing a gun in a kid's face?
You know it isn't just kids coming across, right?Would you be ok with a militiaman pointing a gun in the face of men from Syria or Yemen? what about drug cartel?
The report I read said these militiaemen were on private ranchers land and had been invited.
They have been there for over a month. have you seen any reports of them pointing guns in the face of any kid?

and
" but peaceful protesters have been gassed and arrested."
can you cite a source showing peaceful protestors being gassed?

Larry
what do you want the militiamen to do? join the thugs destroying property looting burning shooting at cops throwing rocks and bottles?

The facts have yet to come out . I suspect the cop is in the wrong and if he is he should be charged and prosecuted.
I support all the peaceful protests and hope this leads it improvements in that community. How is it possible a town that is 90% black has no black cops?
I would hate to be a cop.

Evidently the angry folks on faux's website were making look stormfront look like a relative naacp site. Both main stories on the ferguson event have the following statement:

I don't want this to turn into a debate about whether militiamen are right or wrong in their actions. There was a YouTube video of one saying he pointed guns at kids but it was taken down. The fact is that they acted when they saw what they considered a problem. In their own words, they said that the need to act was based on the constitution. Why do they feel the need to act in that situation but not when members of the media are being arrested and roughed up when charging their phones at a mcdonalds?

Link this is a link to a state senator who was there saying they were gassing peaceful protestors. There were complaints from media members that they were forced to shut their cameras off then the police proceeded to gas people.

I also have a hunch the cop is in the wrong but that's not my issue. I believe when this is settled we will see that there were many outrageous abuses of our constitutional rights in the aftermath and I expect the self-proclaimed defenders of the constitution to step up.

This has a lot of good information about what is going on and the reporters that were arrested. Big shout out to Ted Cruz for tweeting about this and actually caring about the constitution and freedom of the press even when it doesn't fit the typical conservative agenda. Will the tea party follow his lead?

I haven't had a chance to see all the vids some of what I ask maybe answered in the vids

I know that the New Black Panthers are now there and I know they have brought Molotov cocktails and other weapons> I know the FBI is supposedly watching also
so is it possible the media involved were close to groups being violent?
There are no easy answers and both sides have relevant views
but wondering why the "militiamen" aren't there seems irrelevant to the problem.

The overarching theme of conservative outrage over the last 6 years has been the abandonment of the constitution. There is some insane stuff going on in Missouri and the people screaming day in and day out are silent. I guess me and Ted Cruz are the only ones that care about the constitution when it comes to the second amendment as well as all the freedoms given in the first amendment. The next time the tea party (other than Cruz) is whining about Obama and the constitution, I will be sure to tune them out.

wtf, are you crazy? if you are smart you will stay home away from that whole situation. Both sides are apt to kill you.

Two people were shot by police in Houston this week. Why isn't CNN covering it? Where are Sharpton and Crump? There is no money to be made, so these stories will remain back page.

The Missouri spectacle continues to grow because of the looting, race baiters on both sides and the American public's desire to see it on TV. The Justice Department will actively investigate this and the police officer - if guilty- will be punished. The race to convict should be halted until both sides of the story are investigated. From early eyewitness accounts, it surely seems like the officer went rogue and will pay for his actions. However, I assume everyone, including the attorneys on this board, presume he is innocent as required by our system of laws and punishment?

Michael Brown should not have been killed by that police officcr. Even if it turns out that he did fight with him in the police car. The policeman should suffer consequences and be fired.

Now the police have released some details including the name of the cop. There was a strong armed robbery at a different convenience store shortly before this incident. The description of one of the suspects was of a 6'4' 240lb black man wearing baggy khaki shorts, a white Tshirt and a red Stl Cards hat. There I also a blk/wh photo released.

If as it seems Brown was the suspect he still should not have been shot. But it may change the factors some. Does no excuse the killing. There is no excuse for killing this way.

And then they released the name of the officer. I really hope he and his family have left.

I will await all facts to come out before passing judgment either way. As suspected though, much more to the story than two innocent boys walking down the street being being shot by police officer without reason.
