What's Your Favorite Meal in Austin?

So that's your contribution to "favorite meal in austin"?

* Linguine with littleneck clams and ground sausage - from Asti
* The pre fix menu at Chez Nous - nicoise salad or pate, steak, chocolate mousse.
* Rockin Ruthann's from Maudie's.

what kind of sauce and filling do you Rockin' Ruthann's fans go with? i'm going up there tonight--i usually get the ruthann's or the relleno, but i think i'll try out the beef fajita enchiladas tonight.

Tuna tartar at Eddy V's
Bass at V's.
espresso encrusted venison at Castle Hill.
Tuna at Trulucks (chain!!!)
el Presidente from Gueros
Huevos Motuelenos from El Sol.

" The Elvis - Chewy's " The Elvis is great, but with that spelling... come on... it ain't that hard.

"Barbecue: It was Muellers on Manor."
Tell me about it. I went there and took some colleagues from work last thursday. My mouth was watering all the way over there, and then, disaster. Why do they need to renovate? The athmosphere in there was half the greatness about the place!

i have too many faves to list them.

i will say that the CFS with yellow gravy from Hills Cafe is a damn tasty dish. good call!

I must be going to the wrong Maudies (Slaughter @ Brodie) because that place is not worth it to me.

My favorite meal: Platana Loco at Habana. I wish they'd hurry up and rebuild the S Congress location already.

The fact that this thread has gone on this long without a mention of the cheese enchiladas at the Dart Bowl is a crime against humanity.

Tacos de carnitas at Angie's

Diver scallops at Aquarrelle

Duck and sausage gumbo at Castle Hill

Cheeseburger and fries at Mike's Pub

XX Chili frito pie at the Chili Parlour

Chicken Fried Steak at Cafe 290 (Manor)

Frisco burger and a piecea pie

Dude.

You married the WRONG woman.

My wife and I have gone there for dinner before a movie, on a "date."

Homemade Texas toast, cheesy enchilada goodness. They've even got Schlitz in a can. Pure class.

The Dart Bowl is on Grover -- it's the turn onto Grover heading south, just East of the Honda dealership off of 2222/Allandale/Koenig, between Burnet and Lamar.

Solid burgers and fries, too, but to go and not get the enchiladas is an abomination against God.

Burger - Casino

Breakfast Taco - Taco Shack and Don Juan

Pizza - Frank & Angies

Steak - Eddie V's

Chicken Skrips - Katz's

Fries - Pluckers (when warm and not soggy)

Sandwhich - Thundercloud

I liked most of your picks, but taco shack has got to go.

Try some of the new places on Manor east: Mi Madre's for breakfast tacos (their migas taco is awesome), and El Chilito for regular tacos.

If you're stuck in minus-well-be-dallas northwest austin, try Taco Deli. I think there's one down south now too. Haven't tried their breakfast tacos yet though. Not as quick as other places, but for quality breakfast tacos, Manuel's Sunday brunch is tough to beat.

Mine has to be the chicken chille relleno at Trudy's. In fact, I think it's one of my favorite dishes in any city.

And Taco Deli down by the Greenbelt makes some of the best taco's in town.

i must apologize... i neglected to mention the Stuffed Avocado from trudy's with suiza sauce. THAT is a good ******* meal.

if you haven't tried it, definitely check it out--it's one of the more unique 'mexican' dishes i've tried. basically a deep-fried avocado placed on top of fajita chicken and smothered in sauce.

Burger - The KC @ Casino el Camino

Breakfast Taco - Anything with white cheese @ Taqueria Tapatia

Pizza - Pepperoni & Mushroom, wheat crust from Mangia

Beef - Whatever beef dish Aquarelle is currently doing

Wings/Fries - Wing Stop (kiss it, chainophobics!)

BBQ - Family style, of course, from the Salt Lick

Mexican - Enchiladas Mole, Manuel's

4:30 pm on a fri. at Casino with a Buffalo Burger, mild sauce and chili cheese fries with a cold beer. Last time, Blues Bros. was on, that is perfect for me.
