What to root for for a Playoff spot

You mentioned won lost record that the committee considers but I don't read that anywhere.

Again, if they are following their own mandate we should jump Oregon this week based on their published criteria that must be considered if the teams are comparable.
You are correct.
They specifically mention Championships won, Strength of schedule and head-to-head competition. Using this criterion, with the outcomes I mentioned above, we are the top one loss team and would get the 4 slot.

Seems like we and tOSU would already be ahead of UO in that case since SoS is available to look at.

Does anybody know thw status of Washington QB Penix? At the end of the WSU game, he was in the observation tent then left the field all wrapped up in jackets over his head. Concussion? I havent heard anything further about him. Would certainly change the Wash/ Oregon outlook.

The more I look at these rankings the less sense it makes. Essentially what the committee is saying is they'd take Ohio State, a 3rd place Big 10 team, over the Big XII champ (if it's Texas). Sheer lunacy.

Baa, shows what I know. My thought was that the only shot Texas has was with a FSU lost, so I though GA needed to win to keep a repeat from two years ago, when Alabama beat them, and they still got a spot.

The difference this year was the number of good conference champs. All 5 looked good - three were undefeated, and the two one loss teams both had huge wins - against GA for Alabama, and against them by Texas.
