What social or networking sites do you use?

Sadly I've progressed from Friendster to Myspace to Facebook. It doesn't help that I work at a university so it's all student workers do when they have more than 2 mins of freetime. I will say I've reconnected with friends I haven't seen in 20 plus years, and as opposed to LinkedIn, it's great for the creative/entertainment business I'm in, because you can put your portfolio or reel up so anyone wanting your services can see it instantly. In that respect, it's more than just a friend thing, it's a business related networking site.

I recently opened a Linkedin account, but only because I thought I was going to be laid off.

Don't have any of the others, though a friend keeps wanting me to open a facebook account.

I was vehemently opposed to all these things, but finally got convinced to check out facebook. I echo all the comments above, it has been cool reconnecting with people, but more then that, the unintentional comedy value is off the charts. From the girls that update their status for every inane thing they are doing, to some of the funny groups, and the pictures...good times.

I know that was not directed to me but I did actually look up and find a friend from the past without the internet. I visited his grave site two weeks after I learned he had died a year previous. That sucked.

I would assume that Facebook type places are much better than the pay ones like Reunion and Classmates which charge money.

I wonder if in few years we would have a "social networking" bubble? The bubble bursts, leading to a whole sleuth of cascading effects. Stocks tumble, people shut down their accounts, demand for pshychiatrists go up and the Internet becomes a deserted place like the one in I am Legend. Goverment would better hurry up to come up with a bail-out plan to save the girls from jumping off the cliff.

I use Facebook and LinkedIn. At first, I used LinkedIn a lot, but now I use Facebook for business and personal somewhat.

For me, Facebook has been a great way for me to keep in touch with my family and close friends since I've moved. Also, many of my former managers, co-workers etc. are now on Facebook, so it is nice keeping in touch with them.

The best part for me is being able to keep up with my 1 1/2 yr old niece. I really miss not having her closer to where I live, so I at least get to see how she is doing.

Also, Facebook has really helped me network a lot more than LinkedIn ever did.
