What if it was not the Russians?

Here is a Conway quote

"Putin hated Secretary Clinton so much that the flip side of that coin was that he had a clear preference for the person running against the person he hated so much," Comey said. "Yeah, that might work on Saturday afternoon when my wife's Red Raiders are playing the Texas Longhorns," Conaway said. "She really likes the Red Raiders ... but the logic is that because [Putin] really didn't like ... candidate Clinton, that he automatically liked Trump. That assessment is based on what?" "It's based on more than that, but part of it is ... the logic," Comey answered. "Whoever the Red Raiders are playing, you want the Red Raiders to win. By definition, you want their opponent to lose."

That's a Comey quote.

Note the difference between Sessions and Loretta Lynch, who did not recuse herself from the Clinton private server scandal after meeting with Bubba on the Tarmac.

She absolutely should have recused herself and that's a blemish on her record. Kudos to Sessions but, like Lynch, it was his own actions/statements that spurred the need to recuse himself.

And he did so out of a sense of honor. The point is to note the difference in the actions of the two.

Thats the point Coulter was making
Its always one side only that does the recusing
They never fall on their swords

Funny you should mention that situation:

In a letter to Holder, Pruitt said the Justice Department sought information beyond what could be justified by any specific probe. He demanded that the government return the phone records and destroy all copies.

“There can be no possible justification for such an overbroad collection of the telephone communications of The Associated Press and its reporters,” Pruitt wrote to Holder. “These records potentially reveal communications with confidential sources across all of the newsgathering activities undertaken by the AP during a two-month period, provide a road map to AP’s newsgathering operations, and disclose information about AP’s activities and operations that the government has no conceivable right to know.”

But experts said the scope of the records secretly seized from the AP and its reporters goes beyond the known scale of previous leak probes.

“This investigation is broader and less focused on an individual source or reporter than any of the others we’ve seen,” said Steven Aftergood, a government secrecy expert at the Federation of American Scientists. “They have swept up an entire collection of press communications. It’s an astonishing assault on core values of our society.”

“Coming within a week of revelations that the White House lied to the American people about the Benghazi attacks and the IRS targeted conservative Americans for their political beliefs, Americans should take notice that top Obama administration officials increasingly see themselves as above the law and emboldened by the belief that they don’t have to answer to anyone,” said Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.), chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee.

Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Patrick J. Leahy (D-Vt.) said in a statement that he is “very troubled by these allegations” and wants to hear the government’s explanation. “The burden is always on the government when they go after private information — especially information regarding the press or its confidential sources,” Leahy said. “I want to know more about this case, but on the face of it, I am concerned that the government may not have met that burden.”

You would have thought those dumbasses would learn, but I guess Susan Rice was absent from class that day.

I wasn't commenting on this story but the baseless statement that only Republicans recuse themselves or "fall on their sword". Do you admit that's false?

So Nunes recuses himself and Trey Gowdy steps into his role. :smile1: Anyone think the push to boot Nunes may have just backfired horribly on the Dems?

"Gowdy, along with Mike Conaway and Thomas Rooney, were announced Thursday morning as the three committee members now heading the probe".

Gowdy was a bulldog going after HRC in past investigations. Wonder if he's plans to add HRC's campaign connections with Russia into the equation.

There's more than smoke connecting HRC's bunch to Russia. Money trails exist involving the Uranium shipment, Bill's paid speech in Russia, Podesta's paid gig on the board of Joule who took $35 mil from a Russian company, Podesta's brothers connection, etc.

Out goes Nunes, in comes Gowdy...good luck with that.

What's good for the goose...

Libs went after Nunes filing a complaint with the House Ethics Committee which forced him to step aside while the claim is investigated.

Freedom Watch has returned the favor and filed a complaint against Schiff (CA-D) with the HEC. Let's see if Nunes' Dem counterpart recuses himself as well.

Among other things, Freedom Watch alleges that Schiff was “fully aware of and sought to cover up widespread crimes, multitudes of felonies, of warrantless surveillance of U.S. citizens within the domestic United States” under the previous administration.

After Ashcroft recused himself, Fitzgerald was named Special Counsel to investigate --

".... the alleged unauthorized disclosure of a CIA employee's identity ..."
But Libby was not the person who disclosed this information.

Politically, what was really going on was the Dems wanted the head of Karl Rove. They despised him. Since so much time has passed, people these days tend to forget the hate the Dems and the media had at that time for both Rove and Bush. And they thought Fitzgerald would get him. The idea of Rove doing the perp walk was better than orgasm to Lefties. But, like Libby, Rove had leaked nothing.

The actual leaker was a guy named Richard Armitage. He claimed the leak was "inadvertent." The Dems liked Armitage, so he was never charged with anything.

Fitzgerald's grand jury was disbanded without ever indicting anyone for what Fitzgerald was charged to investigate.

The whole affair was rotten as Plame did not even qualify under the relevant statute.
Judith Miller, to whom Libby supposedly leaked info about Plame, has written a book detailing how Fitzgerald was falsely able to convict Libby. Newsmax talks about it in this article/advertisement.

I love it so much that this is one of the leaders of the Democratic Party -- I hope she wins the 2020 nomination

To me, that speaks more to the validity of the dossier. I've yet to be shown where he was wrong. I expect to see the pee pee tape in the future.

Agreed. The FBI would have had to independently verify the facts in the dossier to present it as part of it's justification for a FISA warrant on Page. So, either the FBI lied about verifying it to a FISA Court or they validated the Carter Page specific content in the dossier.

Man...I can only imagine the defense of Trump some will conduct if the pee pee tape is real and becomes public. If the Russian's have it, Trump has to be very concerned it will show up on Wikileaks soon as his ideal relationship with Putin continues to wither.

That will be something to behold. Realistically, they'll probably change the subject by talking about Bill Clinton's sexual sleaziness.

I don't think it's real, and I don't want it to be real. However, the reaction of the Rump lovers if it turned out to be real would be comical.

Yeah, it would be kind of funny. However, the fact that a germaphobe would allow two hookers to piss on a bed stretches the imagination too much I think. Some other things also makes this whole scenario ludicrous.

With as much money as Trump has, he could just as easily rent a helicopter to follow the Obamas around with a couple hookers hanging out the side

With a tip o the cap toward Musberger's boss and Trumps closest pal:

"Did Trump really come and meet with Moscow prostitutes? Firstly he is an adult, and secondly he is a person who for many years has organized a beauty pageant, socialized with the most beautiful women in the world. It is hard to believe that he ran to a hotel to meet with our girls of a low social class, although they are the best in the world," Putin said.:yikes:
"But finally, you know, what I want to say, prostitution is a serious, ugly, social phenomenon, young women do this connected to the fact that they cannot survive any other way and that is a problem of society but people who order false information and spread this information against the elected President, who fabricate it and use it in a political fight, they are worse than prostitutes," he added.
Crap, now I'm starting to agree with OUBubba and side with the Russians.

That's not the Obama's yacht but rather David Geffen's. The Obama's seem to be getting the royal treatment from celebrities. Didn't they visit Richard Branson's island too? They have a lot of friends willing to host them at this point. If they weren't "elite" before getting to D.C., they certainly are now.

I never gave it much credibility, and frankly, I never understood the rationale of pushing this story. It's so outrageous and crazy that unless one has irrefutable proof, one looks worse by telling such a story than by simply keeping quiet.
