What happened to the Angels

Awesome team on paper. Rolling right after the All Star
Break. Four aces in the starting rotation, Trout, Trumbo, Pujols turning in awesome seasons, and they are losing ground to everybody out west, no further ahead of the Mariners than the A's are ahead of them.

Bad chemistry this year but next year they will be scary good. The west next year us stacked with texas and Oakland really strong.

(a) no middle Pen. They blow leads like crazy.
(b) Haren's back problems popped up again
(c) Santana has had a bad year
(d) the other 3 starters were hot before the AS break, then caved in under the innings Scoscia had to use them on b/c he didn't trust his middle Pen.... Same thing happened here w/ Buck all those years. He didn't trust certain guys in the Pen, wore the better starters out.

No team can succeed with a horrible middle Pen crew. Next yr they'll probably go after 3 Middles. That would make their team unstoppable, esp if they get a closer better than Fieri

^Excellent summary - no effective bullpen. Look for the Angels to go hot and heavy to strengthen the bullpen in the offseason.

Indeed, HHD. If the LAA had what we had during the TB series from the 7th inning on, they'd win 110 games +. The Ogando / Adams / Nathan trio made the game an 18 out game for the most part.

I;m just hoping Adams doesn't sign w/ LAA...Hate to lose him, but the R's cut off talks with his agent at the ASB b/c he was asking for closer's $... Hopefully they're talking again, his real value is during October.
