WH submits budget with 1.3 Trillion deficit

now you'e just "what iffing". the fact is obama did not stop the spending as promised. you even admitted the GWB doctrine led to the recession, yet you defend Obama for doing more of what GWB did? you people need to get out of his lap, and look at the facts. Those are he continued and escalated failed policies. He did it because he is either too stupid to know better, or he is trying to ruin the country financially. He had a chance to stop it with complete control of government. He didnt. He had a chance to stop it with proposing a sane budget that cuts spending. He hasn't. Those are very simple, inarguable facts. This is his to own. Defend it if you want, but that only makes you as stupid as he is.
 
And for the record, regardless of whether GW's spending was bad or good (it was bad), it did not cause the recession. You guys tend to try and link those two issues a lot, but they're not related.
 
Key fact: The Democrats control the Presidency and the Senate, yet they've failed to pass a budget in 3 years and it looks highly unlikely they'll have one in year 4.

How does ANYONE consider this acceptable?
 
Hornpharm, the House has passed a budget for the last two years.

How about if we lower the bar a bit and ask the White House to submit a budget for which 10 senators will vote in the affirmative?
 
DH, I understand your point. Mine is just pointing out those that want to criticize him for not following through on his promise simply would have criticized him even if he had done that. Thus it is an issue he does not win at. There is a difference between not criticizing and caling something a triumph too. You say if he had cut the deficit to zero it would have been a triumph as if to say that otherwise there would be criticism. But this is an unrealistic goal and it has rarely occurred in the last 30 years. it certainly never was even close to occurring under GWB during 4 bubble years. So that is where I agree that the fiscal irresponsibility started and this is just somewhat continuation of that policy. That is what I am not happy with.
 
Back to the OP. The President doesn't even bother to try any real cuts in what he SUBMITS to Congress.

Did the mean old Republicans steal his homework?
