Well They Did It

An ugly, ugly win, but I'll take it. With all the talent we have, we should have stomped those guys. Hopefully, as the season goes on, we'll have some cohesiveness, rather than the helter-skelter so-called offense that's in place.

AJ did anything buy force shots yesterday. He took 18 shots but a lot of those shots are good ones for him because he has such a quick release. He went 9-18 for the game and 5-9 from 3. Thats a lot better than the 8-30 he put up against ND.

I'll take AJ in the clutch. The guy is money. He loves to take the big shot. He shot us back into the ND game and even brought us back last year against MSU, the guy gets into a zone when the Horns need him most.

Mason at PG is good. His handle is better than most here are giving him credit and the best thing about him is that he attacks the basket, he's still adjusting to the position but he's getting better every game, and he already has a PG mentality of passing first.

My biggest gripe is out post entry passes and our pick and roll play on offense. For some reason we can't seem to get the ball into the post, we need to work on that, we have an advantage over a lot of teams with our bigs and we need to take that advantage.

There were a lot of times where we had Atchley, James, or Johnson rolling to the basket open but Mason, AJ, Ward, etc didn't make the pass. Gotta keep working on that.

Things look like they are coming along nicely for this team. Barnes' teams always improve as the year goes on and they usually play their best ball in February and March, I think that trend will hold true for this team as well.
