Welcome to a new era of Texas basketball

Given the positive trend in the tone of this thread, I guess it's a good thing Dodds listened to the fan base and got rid of Barnes when he did. Oh, wait...

Ivey, Thomas, Mouton, Boddicker, Ford, Buckman et al had great chemistry - that's why they did so well - just like this team to date.

I don't usually wish ill will upon guys who transfer. Even dudes who badmouth the program like Darius White for football. But the selfishness of McClellan, Lewis, and Kabongo (not really on the court, but off it for Myck) set this program back further than anything we had seen since the last Penders year.

Updates on the rankings.

We cracked the top-25 at #25 in the AP poll today. We are #26 in the USA Today coaches' poll.

As for computer rankings, realtime RPI has us at #31 with the 36th best schedule and Sagarin has us at #36 with the 22nd best schedule.

So, we are doing better in human polls than in the computers.

On RPI, our top-100 wins so far are against #11 ISU, #39 KSU, #51 UNC, #55 Baylor, #65 Mercer, #84 Vanderbilt, #90 Stephen F. Austin, #95 WVU, The losses are to #9 MSU, #15 OSU, #19 OU, and #48 BYU. That is a pretty solid record so far, for a 7 through 9 seed in the tournament as of now.
