Week 9 Prediction Thread: Texas vs. BYU...Lock Your Doors and Ignore the Door Bell

I'm one of those "Hope I'm Wrong" people as well. I won't pick against Texas but I think it will be close.
Texas 27
Land of great skiing-24
After what we've seen (especially from the defense) how can this^^^not be in our thoughts? And with a QB coming in to start his first game. Against a team with a 4-2 record.
I'm guessing BYU scores in the 20's--low 20's preferably. Hopefully our offense finds a way to put 30+ on the board.
Would be nice if our LB' Ford would show up with play that matched pre season hype. He should be leading this defense; however, I hardly hear his name announced; I don't see him being the disruptive force that I saw last year. Is he hurt?

Struggling with this one. From what I've seen recently, winning out and making it to the Big 12 CCG is no guarantee with this team. Inconsistency, lack of killer instinct, questionable play calling on both sides of the ball at times, and all of this before the injury to Ewers and others. I'm concerned there's one more conference loss coming against the next three opponents.

Texas 31
BYU 24

35-17 Minotaurs over Tardy, Self-Described Saints

I just hope we have enough beef to shove their Samoans around.

With no QE, I see a lot of FG attempts...and with our sieve of a secondary, I see BYU getting chunk plays.

I'm thinking this one has Texas with 26 and Texas giving up 23. BYU misses a potential game-tying FG as the clock rolls to zeroes. Bettors giving the 20 rejoice as they cash in their ticket while some fools cry in their beer, having been CERTAIN this was the week the brakes failed when the gas pedal stuck. Oh, and the books breathe a sigh of relief as the game just barely stays under...

TEXAS 26

34-24 Texas (note every time I predict a score that is closer than the spread, they win by 20 or so, and when I predict a larger margin, they win by one score or lose).
Bump - going to predict less than the spread from now on.

Can someone explain to me how no team that we play is ever guilty of OL holding? We have 3 or 4 players breathing down the QB but not quite there. And by some quirk none of our opponents seem to need to hold. That said, if of DLs had tear-away jerseys they would all need a new one ever 4th play. I am no ‘referees killed us’ homer, but this is getting eggregious.

Longhorns have been deemed privileged..it’s like a wealth tax..and don’t expect that to change.
