Week 13 Prediction Thread...It's Finally Over...Kansas St vs. Texas

View from Vegas, as of this morning, still has the 'horns (for educational purposes only) giving 2 points and the over/under is currently 51 1/2. That tells me they don't expect either team to be offensive juggernauts.

On the season, K-State runs 6-4-1 against the spread while Texas has mirrored the on-field record of 4-7. Offensively, they are fairly equal, although K-State does a fraction better on their per-play but runs fewer plays per game. Difference comes on the ground, which, as we know, Texas has seen the cupboard run bare in recent weeks. The question mark comes for K-State who has QB injuries of their own and he is listed as unlikely to start. Even if Thompson starts, how consistent will he be, not withstanding the Texas tendency to make every person, including water boys, seem like Heisman candidates...

BUT...one injury site I have seen lists BOTH of the two Texas starters we have seen as being day-to-day.

Defensively, K-State plays stronger on per-play averages than Texas posts offensively. They give up about as much by air as Texas averages though. This tells me that the Texas air attack needs to step it up. Will the shake-up in the depth chart be enough to do that? Does our third-stringer have any touch on the ball?

I've seen one 'prediction' site that calls this for Texas by a touchdown and going over the total. Cloudy day with an early start after tryptophan day. Oh, and cool like they saw in West Virginia. Rain does not appear to be in the game window though...

I believe Texas can put a couple of touchdowns on the scoreboard and that Dicker will have at least three FG attempts. Defense could have opportunities against K-State and a back-up QB given that they struggle without Thompson.

I don't see this going over. However, I will call for a win to send any seniors out with the bittersweet end to their time on the Forty Acres and give positive vibes for the off-season discussions and chatter.

Texas: 23
WheatAggy: 19

Who's going to the game tomorrow? $6 tickets on StubHub makes it cheaper than a Vandegrift 9th grade regular season game ticket.

Sorry, I worked last night and didn't have time before the game to post the predictions as I just woke up. I will post results after the game concludes.

Damn...I came close...again...22-17 actual vs 23-19 predicted.

I ought to go to Vegas...oh wait. I already do that from time to time :fiestanana:

Ready for the weekly gut punches to end but lets end on a high note as it may well be two third string QB's starting this game for both teams so lets party like its 2015 and we are playing Baylor with their fourth string QB to avoid the 4-8 season:

Texas 23
KSU 17
I'll defer to the final spread sheet but, at first glance, I think you come out on top this week.

What is this work excuse? Don't your superiors realize you have a message board to attend to? What in the Wide Wide World of Sports has this generation come to?
