Week 12 Prediction Thread...The Hills Have Eyes...West Virginia vs. Texas

I really wish I could find a way to pick Texas to win. I really, really wish I could find a shred of a reason to believe Texas will even be competitive. I really, really, REALLY wish I wasn't having to type the two previous sentences. But I had to and I did.

The reality is that the cupboard seems to be bare. We haven't been using anyone except Bijan...and we are out of Bijan for the season. We seem to also have been out of Roschon. Anyone have some Grey Poupon they can pass? At least then we might have a run game with some mustard...

The receivers are equally decimated, but does that matter when we STILL don't seem to have the go-to guy at QB?

On the defensive side of the ball, Coach Bo seems to want to give a damn but does anyone else? I know there are a few who will still lay the wood even at the risk of a flag and ejection at this point (and for some games, I wouldn't blame them for wanting to say they had no role in the final score), but that mentality just isn't there as a unit.

Money line spread is not huge- WV is -140 while Texas is +120, which, although not a toss-up, says the book still believes they can get some suckers, err customers to put money on Texas. Obviously they want the suckers, err customers to be people that cannot read a weather chart.

Morgantown is shaping up to see a high of 50, although at least with no rain. I believe they were getting rain last night and this morning. FieldTurf should at least drain off a little bit of that, but still...50 is cooler than most of these kids are used to and they don't get to wear a parka on the field of play. Have either of our QB's thrown much in the cold? Ditto the receivers catching the ball in the cold...or at least cold by typical Texas standards for this time of year?

Texas gets 2.5 points at last look with an Over/Under of 56.5, which suggests Vegas sees this as a 30-27 sort of game.

I don't have that degree of faith in ANY phase of this year's Texas squad at this point.

Sadly sports fans...I have to call this one in favor of the couchburners.

WVU- 31
Texas- 20

My challenge to Sark and the rest of the squad is to prove me wrong.

Apparently 16 posters did not understand my original post at the beginning of this thread when I asked for a group effort in order for us to have a chance to win this week.

I am going to stick with my original thought on what it will take for us to win tomorrow.

Hillbilly Junction - 34

Malfunction Junction - 23

Some of us find it difficult to be accurate prognosticators and simultaneously ignore what we see...sorry about that.

Where did you hear Whit was back?
Sark said so in his Thursday presser.

I am away from home today working but will be watching the game. When I get back tomorrow I will update everything.

Herbie was the only one to pick Texas on gameday.
Herbie was wrong again! Do you think Herbie will call Texas a cesspool after our loss next week? After watching this mess today. I don't believe our players will show up.
