We had no Business Losing the Tech Game

I think it helps to look at other teams other than UT. It gets very easy to think that nobody else does this, and it's quite common. I distinctly remember last year about this time of year that Florida should be WORRIED. I think they were losing some games at the last, not looking sharp, etc. It worked out for them..... You know, ESPN could easily have added, after saying that a&m and Kansas did what Texas couldn't, "and by the way, Texas has beaten Kansas and a&m." I'm not sure what their point was.

Road loss apologist? It isn't an apology. It's a fact. Again, Tech is 6-1 at home, 1-7 on the road. I don't have the stats in front of me, but I'm sure that there an overall trend that applies in the Big 12, all of the NCAA ... hell, all of basketball for that matter.

It is a fact that teams typically play better on their home court. They have a better 'feel' of the court. They feed off the energy of the home crowd....

As for the Neb game last night, give Neb credit for playing a great game on the road. They shot the ball well and kept our guards from penetrating the lane. Good thing we were hitting our jumpshots.

The game should have come as no surprise. Neb has been playing good basketball lately (something like 5 in a row before last night). During which, they were shooting 50+% and holding their opponents to less than 40%.

And, yes, we let our intensity down in the 2nd half. But, they deserve credit for clawing their way back into the game. Just as we deserve credit for hitting the big shots and making the defensive plays to win it down the stretch.

While I agree it's difficult to win on the road, you seem to have set up a nice bit of logic, there:

If we lose a tough game on the road, that's alright - because it's tough to win on the road. If we barely win a tough game against a mediocre team at home, then it's alright - because they've been playing well lately and came to play.

I don't *necessarily* disagree with either statement in relation to any particular game - but you're venturing dangerously close to truisms.
