We had no Business Losing the Tech Game

Say what you will about number 2 seeds and split championships but I really wanted that outright championship. After watching Kansas own Tech so far tonight it makes me mad that we didnt' show up for that game.

If we can go 5-3 on the road and 8-0 at home I don't see how anyone can complain. We beat stinking Kansas. Let' close this thing out and I'll be stinking giddy over this season.

Road games in major conferences = toughest games you can play.

There's a reason the spread in a game when you switch from a home game to a road game is upwards of 8-10 points.

Think how many points that is.

Maybe so, but Tech is a bad team. A&M beat them by 44. With 12 left in the 2nd Kansas is up on them by 41. It has nothing to do with it being a road game as much is it does our team just didn't show up. I hope they have it out of their systems because from here on out they will have to show up for every game if they want to keep playing.

Not likely, tone of the game would have been entirely different because the KU team and half of the student section would have fouled out had the refs that were calling Saturday's game calling this one.

That's a joke. Of course we showed up, but Tech outplayed us. Who cares what happens to Tech on the road? They suck on the road. They don't suck at home. They beat KU at home last year.

It's always tough to win on the road, and those wins can't be taken for granted.

Btw, I believe A&M can beat KU specifically since it's at A&M. No way we lose to Nebraska or OSU because both are home games.

It didn't look like we had near as much intensity at TT, like we were expecting Tech to fight us for the first half, and then fold.

Against Kansas and aggy, we were just gittin'it, from the tipoff to the final whistle.

Completely different effort and attitude.

Strange . . .

What it hurts is that cost UT an outright championship. I agree if UT shows up with their B game they beat Tech.

And Duke had no business losing to Wake Forest and Miami...UNC had no business losing to Maryland AT HOME.....Tennessee had no business losing to Kentucky...UCLA had no business losing to Washington....

My point is that it happens to all teams. The same teams that Texas is fighting against for a high seed.

Yeah, Texas didn't play it's best, but we had a chance. Many of those games I listed above were 6+ pt losses. Coach Barnes will use this as a teaching session (for himself as well).

Let's use the loss to push towards another winning streak.

Yeah, it sucks that we lost out on the outright title, but KU doesn't have a cakewalk in Collie Station. They still have to earn it just like we do.

That's a bad Tech team that lost to a fading aggy team and got destroyed by Kansas. We shouldn't have lost, but oh well. Let's take care of business and get ready for the Big 12 tourney.

That's why you can't follow a college basketball team with a college football mentality. You can't sit around and moan about losing to a team "you had no business losing to" because you almost certainly will lose more than one of those games in a season. You don't hit your shots every night, you don't get the calls every night, and some times teams just come in and shoot lights out and there's not much you can do about it.

It's done. Let's close it out from here.

Barnes needs to use the loss to fire up the team, and then forget about it. Focusness, fight and win! Big 12 tourney is everything.

Here's a revelation: TTech sucks, badly

Unfortunately we sucked worse last Sat afternoon

It stil stings, but the season goes on (for Texas, but not for TT)

Tech has played completely differently at home vs. on the road in conference play.

At home, they are 6-1 with their lone loss to OU on a desparation 3 at the buzzer. On the road, they are 1-7 with their lone win against lowly CU.

Not saying we should have lost, just saying that it has just as much to do with Tech as it does with us.
