WCU game

Anybody know why Williams didn't play? I was surprised based on Barnes comments about him after the first game?

I thought Williams did play. He was in like the last 3-4 minutes and I thought I saw him in the 1st half as well.

There does not appear to be much of an offensive game plan. With Dogus, it is drive to the basket and shoot or dish to James or Pittman. With J'Covan, it is drive to the basket and either shoot or bring it back out to the 3 point line and pass it around until Hamilton can jack up a 3.

This will not work in Big 12 play. Need to get a plan together. I am sure Rick is working on it, but not quite sure what they were doing during the pre-season.

he got in for like 30 seconds in the first half and garbage time at the end, but why not in the actual game. Seems weird based on Barnes' comments re: him.

Horn89 how was the crowd? Looked a little better than in year's past. Tough sell with the Football team in line to play for the MNC. All things considered, seemed like we had a decent crowd at the game as compared to previous years.

All in all, I thought this was a step back from our first game. Not unexpected given all the new faces and moving parts. It is gonna take some time to gel.

Biggest problem was turnovers - 21 of them. Another 6 by Brown (to go with his 4 last game). That's just too many for a point guard. In his defense, a couple of them were probably the bigs fault for not coraling the pass. Barnes said as much in his post game conference.

James - usual yoeman effort. Just seems to be a man among boys.

Pittman - I'm a huge fan, but that was not a great night. He's got to do a better job getting those entry passes.

Bradley - two early fouls get him out much of the first half. But, you can tell he's gonna be awesome.

Hamilton - Definitely not afraid to shot the ball, but we need shooters so I think that will ulimately be a good thing. He did get 6-7 rebounds and really moved up the floor well.

Brown - a couple more nice 3 pointers. He needs to be playing off guard. I'm assuming he'll move that way once Jai is available.

Ward/Mason - Both play great defense, but only Ward seems to be an offensive threat.

Doge - With enough shooters on the floor, he can be an effective PG.

Johnson - Helluva a game. Earned the right to be the first Big off the bench (ahead of Wangmene)
