Wall-E or the Dark Knight...

I liked both of them but neither are my favorites. If I had to choose, I would choose TDK though. I got Wall-E and I will probably watch it again with my kids, but I think The Incredibles, Cars & Monsters Inc were all better films.

Nice post, goosehorn. I think some of your criticism about The Dark Knight is right on. It is a little too busy and I'm not crazy about the tired trick of is he dead or isn't he. Ledger was great and the movie seems to be hunting bigger game than just a simple good guy bad guy story.

I didn't get out of Wall-E what you did, but so it goes.

I'm pretty disappointed that neither got nominated for best picture.

Benjamin Button, imo, was a terrific movie and very deserving. I feel it should win.

Slumdog was good, beautifully filmed, and the children actors were great, but the characters I thought were a little thin and stock.

Frost/Nixon was solid, but from an artistic film-making standpoint I don't see how it got nominated over other more worthy movies.

I haven't seen Milk or the Reader yet.

Goose, I couldn't disagree more and I'm afraid you missed the entire story of "Dark Knight".

It wasn't a tale a good vs evil.

It is a tale that good and evil are one and the same....or that good can become evil.

That was all the Joker cared about. EVERYTHING he did was designed to test one's moral fiber.
