Vs Creighton

Scheierman started jacking up those 27-footers after they had zero success with it all game, and got 9 quick points that should have been better-contested. Outside of that, the final result held.

We're not being physical enough inside the arc. We only had 3 free throws going into the final 34 seconds.

If Rice wasn't off last night, this would have been more like the Gonzaga game. It's interesting that we can have a 6th man play "off" and that be a determining factor against a top-10 team, AND we still win. That's the mark of a really, really good team. It's a criticism that we haven't had to throw around at Texas since the 2004 team (year after TJ).

Up by 11 and they started bricking 3's with 25 sec on the shot clock multiple X it certainly looked like they were going to find a way to blow it. It made me start thinking about a second half Sark football team.
I thought the exact same thing as I was watching. I was comfortable with 5 minutes left. After that, I wasn't sure we'd hold the lead.

That was a hard fought game and a solid win over a legit top ten team. Neither team shot the ball that well, but the Horns took at least 5-6 threes that should not have been taken given the shooter and plenty of time on the shot clock. We hit one more three than Creighton shooting a few less threes overall. We had more shots and a few more buckets, they had more free throws. Their seven footer seemed to have a ten foot wing span and bothered Texas inside. Texas is athletic and swarming, but not a physically bruising team in the paint and that is the Achilles heel of this team. Most impressive was the defense intensity never stopped even on an off shooting night. Creighton is a very good offensive team that was held in check. This season should be a fun ride.

Stats lines were virtually identical except FT% - 6-8 was pretty clutch.
Very pleased with our ability to keep intensity on D and finish on a poor shooting night against a likely #2 tourney seed.
