The video debuted this evening on ABC'sWorld News with Diane Sawyer.

Zimmerman shot and killed Trayvon, an unarmed black 17-year-old from Miami Gardens Feb. 26.

Police say Zimmerman told them he shot Trayvon in self-defense after the 6-foot high school junior punched him, got on top of him then began banging his head into a sidewalk.

Zimmerman was bleeding from his nose and back of his head, according to a police report, but the video, provided ABC News by the city of Sanford, shows no obvious sign of injury.

He was tended at the scene by paramedics but told them he did not need to go to a hospital, police reported.

The video shows a somber Zimmerman, hands cuffed behind his back, stepping from a patrol car, surrounded by several officers, walking through a door, then returning.

Interesting video. The reports I've read described Zimmerman as weighing around 240 lbs. This guy looks to be a softly built 175 at best. Satchell, are you sure ABC has the same guy?
 
That guy would have to be solid muscle to be 240.

Does look like one of the photos they have released of Zimmerman. I suppose it is possible that this is someone else, but you would expect that it was provided via an open-records request, which, one would hope, would lead to footage of the right guy being provided to the media.

You can't see any injuries or behavior that suggests he was taxed, hurt, scared, etc. Walk in the park. In the garage the cops sort of let him pick his own path in, like they weren't concerned about him at all.

One of the cops looks at the back of his head. Maybe the video resolution is insufficient to produce the color variations necessary to produce an image of his injuries, though I would expect a broken nose to be more obvious.

Didn't they say he had a broken nose but didn't go to the hospital?

Wasn't the guy on the top of the fracas wearing red. He has a grey sweater underneath.

That guy seems fit. If he wasn't ambushed he should have been able to extricate himself without gunplay.

It is weird how the info in this case is trickling out. It happened long ago enough for someone to have done a little collating.
 
No. But its astounding to me how large the misrepresentation has been from the press.

Nor is he listed on the JV roster (Link). Not that there is relevance to the incident, but the press led us to believe he was actively a participant in sports. The photographic in the football uniform was taken years before that. The reporting was all about creating an image for the public to fit an agenda. Trayvon Martin was a punk.
 
Geez Satchel and Musburger, why wasn't I invited to the wedding of you and your respective opinions? It is clear that each of you will selectively cull the mass of uncertain, contradictory and incomplete information to support what you already KNOW to be the truth. (He was a "punk"? Really? You know that?)

My instincts say that Zimmerman did a bad, bad thing, but I don't think that the concrete on my opinion has dried yet.
 
WS; As far as the background and character of the individuals, so far nothing negative has emerged on Zimmerman. Contrast that with Martin. The kid had been expelled multiple times, been involved with marijuana, and caught holding a bag of jewelry. You may not be able to make a judgement about a person given that information, but I can. I would classify someone with such a track record as a punk (or worse). That doesn't make Zimmerman innocent, but now that the initial reports have been shown to be BS, I'm inclined to give Zimmerman the benefit of the doubt.

Satchell on the other hand would probably be inclined let Trayvon babysit the children and watch the house while he goes to the movies.

Whether or not Zimmerman is guilty of manslaughter or totally innocent having employed self-defense is unknown. What is known is that the press skewed the information in such a way as to lead the public to make deductions based on misinformation. I believe this was intentional.

That’s the question that’s being asked now that more information on Trayvon Martin’s 28-year-old killer is being revealed. Robert Zimmerman, a former Orange County magistrate judge, recently wrote a letter to The Orlando Sentinel defending his son, who’s been dragged through the mud for shooting the unarmed 17-year-old last month. In the letter, the senior Zimmerman asks people not to jump to conclusions and insists that his son didn’t follow the young boy home as he walked through their gated community.

“He would be the last to discriminate for any reason whatsoever. The media portrayal of George as a racist could not be further from the truth. At no time did George follow or confront Mr. Martin. When the true details of the event became public, and I hope that will be soon, everyone should be outraged by the treatment of George Zimmerman in the media,” wrote Robert Zimmerman.

Now more info is being dug up on his “victimized” son through public records and revealing his checkered past.

According to a records search on George, he was previously arrested for domestic violence, resisting an officer without violence and most shockingly, resisting an officer with violence — a felony charge that surely could have landed him in prison.

All three of those arrests, however, were mysteriously closed with no semblance of charges for the Florida resident. So how was someone with a violent past including that of battery against an officer able to carry a 9 mm handgun? Maybe that’s a question Robert Zimmerman should answer …

Is the media going to fix itself and show updated pictures, current pictures of the two minorities involved in this whole unfortunate incident? They are obviously purposely not showing the true size or image of Trayvon. They now seem to not be doing it for the hispanic guy they seem to be targeting. This is racist if so.

Spike Lee must hate hispanics I suppose if he did indeed give out the guys info, even wrongly.
 
Why does ABC put their logo over the most important part of the frame? Happens all the time with the news channels. They forget that the main thing is the content of the picture not the habit of crowding the frame with crap.
 
Zimmerman must have amazing poise. He carried himself well considering the pain he must have felt after being beaten almost to death and worrying over the consequences of having killed an unarmed 17-year-old. I've seen guys who looked a lot worse after playground fights in the fourth grade.

Not to belabor the point, but anybody who thinks Zimmerman was acting reasonably in his capacity as neighborhood watch volunteer needs to read this article.The Link If you are not a subscriber, just to summarize the cops who run the Neighborhood Watch programs in Dallas say don't follow, don't pursue, don't confront and for heaven's sake don't carry a gun or even pepper spray. Any who behaved like Zimmerman are not welcome in the program.
 
I am thinking it is possible that Trayvon did not like hispanics. They may be trying to start a war between minorities. This is the white man's fault, pitting "those" folks against each other like this.

Black on Brown! Is is safe to assume, with the same idiotic rationale as above that the ones here against Zimmerman are anti-hispanic too?
 
Sorry to ruin this Black Panther party, but the police report says he was wet on his back and bleeding on his face. He was treated at the scene.

The video neither clears him or convicts him. Sorry, I know you want an eye for an eye now, but let's have the investigation and hopefully grand jury play out.
 
As long as it's investigated, I think we'll all have live with the outcome. This video, I think, will be part of that investigation as the grand jury decides if charges are warranted. I dodn't think anybody here is putting a bounty on Zimmerman's head.

NO, a paramedic was at the scene, cleaned him up and asked if he wanted to go to the hospital, he said no.

As usual the Mainstream media and the "Race Hustlers" grasping at anything...

The shirt is red, is this video enough clarity to even see that?

Correct me if I am wrong but chest wounds are into soft tissue and blood spatter is minimal, not like hard tissue like a skull.

Do you know if the police took his shirt at the station? Do you know if the shirts are in evidence? Do you know if the medical supplies used at the scene are being used for evidence?

No, I don't think anybody does, yet another mainstream media and "Race Hustler" article comes out trying to stir the pot. This video could have been released with a non-biased point of view and this post could have been done in that regard as well.

It wasn't because this is all a big "Race Huste", for which race has little if anything to do with this situation.
 
This video makes me question even the police report. If he was treated at the scene, I would assume there'd at least be a bandage or something. What the hell?
 
I think the media is being more fair on this story the last couple of days now that other reports are coming out. However we still have conflicting witness testimony and we don't know anything about the ballistic report or the EMS report. The logo on that internet video makes it hard to see anything but I did see this on the nightly news last night. I could not see any blood on Zimmerman and he certainly did not look bruised and battered. Thus I find the OP and thread title to be disingenuous. We should be debating the facts as we know of them not throwing out adjectives that simply are not backed up by this grainy surveillance video. On CNN they said it looked like he might have a gooseegg on the back of his head and they said any blood or other evidence would have been cleaned up by EMS. He did not go to hospital for further treatment and all treatment he received was by EMS. Seems to me that if you had your head slammed on a curb and your were beaten badly that you would go to hospital for further evaluation and get some tests run. I will be very intersted to hear the report from the EMS persons who treated him. I will also be very interested to hear the ballistics report would should tell us which witness accounts are most credible due to the physical evidence.

the police report, which was done by police at the scene reported Travon at 6' but no weight so this was just an estimate by the police on the scene.
the ME report once it is releases, if it is released, will have the exact ht and wt
