with Sherrod Harris.

I really like what I see in this guy. Always have. His injury took him off the radar, but I think he's a gem.

Yeah he looked really good. Showed a very strong arm and great running skills. I think it will be a battle b/n he and Chiles for the back up spot.

And we're gonna have a hard time getting all of our talented wr's on the field. We've got more depth there than at any other time since Mack's been here.

I agree. I thought Harris was more impressive than Chiles. For that matter, I thought Harris was more impressive than McCoy.

One QB controvery put to rest, a new one started! (Just kidding.)

By the time he got in, it was a mixture of personnel. But the number 1 secondary was still in, and he looked good throwing the ball against them. Much better than Chiles, who had a really disappointing day, especially in light of the buzz his practice generated around here.

i think we have a qb controversy on our hands. sherrod harris should be starting over colt

I really wish we had gotten a better look at Sherrod because there is clearly something going on at practice that is keeping him in third place. If today's performance was representative of what every day in the bubble looks like, then obviously he wouldn't be playing behind two other qb's.

I found the fact that our young d line was getting to the qb on nearly every drive pretty darn disturbing.

Yes. I distinctly remember Ullman catching a pass. I also remember either Harris or Chiles trying to dump off to another TE on a drag route, but couldn't because he was covered.

Blake Gideon started at strong safety and Christian Scott started at free safety. Blake Gideon looks pretty lost in zone coverage (as any high schooler would), but was in on just about every tackle and really did well in man coverage. He covered Shipley and Quan successfully quite a few times. Christian Scott looked just as lost in zone, which led to him getting burned deep by Shipley. He looked a lot stronger on run support and man coverage situations.

I liked what I saw of Foswhit Whitaker at rb, nobody else showed squat there until Newton got his one carry late.

The receivers dropped balls.

Chiles has improved some--his passes get close now most of the time.

Colt needed a penalty to keep the drive going to score the only td while he was in.

punters looked poor to mediocre.

best pass rush I've seen in a while. Where is LEon Fuller these days?

This was the sloppiest spring game I have seen in twenty years.

NOw that I am home maybe I get to see it on television and it looks better than in person

I too noticed the overthrow as a diff. Also noticed that Colt barely threw the ball, I mean it was a wrist flick almost - happened to have him in the binoc's that play.
But overall I agree with the ho-hum assessments. I kept saying to myself Mack is looking at something specific here because we were not getting some offense that I had expected, ie runs on 3rd and long, and so on. Colt, and I am a huge Colt fan do not think anyone else is close in knowledge and passing skills, looked 'over' confident to me. First time I have ever thought to myself, he looks too much like this is his job and he has it over everyone else. Needs some humility I'm thinking - hate to admit it because I appreciate what he has done more than most others but that was a thought I had more than once.
Lastly, are we ever in my lifetime going to find someone who can put kickoff into the EZ?
