UT vs OU

Best player on the court hits the last shot for the winner. Hield is consensus player of the year. Having said that, ou sucks.

We will get another shot at home. I like our chances.

Darn it. Basically in control till last possession. Enjoyable game. Remember all the crappy games in the last few years? I feel like every game is worth my time now.

I think we can make Lattin literally cry. And then throw a punch and get kicked out of the game. That's my no. 2 goal for the rematch.

Well you kind of knew this would end with somebody nailing a big shot. Good recovery by the Sooners. This Horns team is young and scrappy and getting better.

So incredibly proud of these players. Keep in mind Texas was only a couple bounces away from not only winning, but running away with that game.

Lammert only made 1 three-pointer, but they were all smart shots and almost every miss was basically half-way down the rim and then rattled out. Taylor also couldn't get some rolls in the game on some of his drives. And just when OU players started getting chippy, Texas did exactly what they did against Baylor: kept their mouth shut and let their game do the talking.

Obviously it hurts to lose this one, but Texas still gets another shot at them, and I think that game will be a lot like this one was. Refs sucked, but what else do you expect from a crew in Norman.

24-17, OU still sucks, and we'll see you b@stards later this month. :hookem::hookem::hookem:

No shame in anything tonight. An abysmal night from the arc...one more 3 and were in OT, but I'm proud of leading OU virtually wire to wire, in their house. Hield has NBA all-stars tweeting he's the next big thing. He has the Wooden locked down. I don't normally whine about refs but that was a poorly officiated contest. Have seen ALOT of those this season.

With all the big games coming up, the Erwin center should be rocking like it has never rocked in a long time. And I am not only talking one game. WVU, Baylor, OU and Kansas. Could that be an unprecedented four sellouts? I say if the Horns can beat ISU this Saturday, it well could be.

I wouldn't call it so quick for Hield. The kid from LSU currently has his team in first place in the SEC now. Should be interesting.

If I'm a Wooden award voter I'd give Hield the nod over Simmons solely based on their stat lines in the head to head matchup...

Simmons is a baller though.

Disappointed in the final score but not in the team. I think we can go toe-to-toe with any team in the country right now (OK, maybe not the Golden State Warriors :) )

Tough game, with many turning points in it.

Will say the refs started calling it kind of ticky tacky at the end and it helped OU. Hate to see that in a close game between two good teams

If you are going to call a push off on Taylor at the end, then Hield should have been called for the same.

Taylor didn't extend his arm and the OU player did a perfect soccer flop. Hield does extend and gets Yancy completely away from him, then cans the trey.

Also the ref that made the call against Taylor, comes over and gets in our huddle, after the timeout. That's not very professional, he was baiting Smart for a technical, Smart turned his back to him.

Was almost like the the ref that made that call against Strong in the OSU football game. Good officials don't do this.

I still would like to know what Ibeh did, to warrant a technical, on the double technical call.

Texas can play with anybody, it seems now with confidence and on the road. When Ridley comes back and it seems he will, this team will be a tough out, in the big dance.

Taylor stuck his forearm out..I guess he was trying to draw a foul instead of just going to the hole....

I'm enjoying what I see from this team and Shaka's first year with the program. I feel like we could see some very impressive runs for the Horns in the coming years.

LOL...too bad that didn't work for Colt against Bradford:soapbox:

Too bad indeed.

We're talking about a completely different sport though. Different caliber of voters. Different season duration. Different selection criteria.

In 39 years, a Freshman has won it twice. Simmons is more likely to win the Naismith...

Guess we'll see on April 7. Get your soapbox ready.

Tough loss but a great showing against a #1 seed in a hostile environment!

Someone please send an open letter to Mike Perrin extending Shaka's contract until 2030 with a $25 million buyout. I do not want the NBA to come calling.
