Well... it IS an inherited team.No doubt about that. Multiple players with 4+ turnovers, Celeste 3-16, Lambert 1-6, Ortiz 0-4, something like 10 straight missed FT's, 26 fouls mostly due to stupid lazy play and ou beats Texas to every damn loose ball.
I kept looking for Karen on the sideline. I don't know if I ever saw a Karen team play that bad, certainly not against our biggest rival.
And... 21 of the 22 senseless turnovers were committed by starters. No doubt about that. Multiple players with 4+ turnovers, Celeste 3-16, Lambert 1-6, Ortiz 0-4, something like 10 straight missed FT's, 26 fouls mostly due to stupid lazy play and ou beats Texas to every damn loose ball.

The worst part about it is that they made their run when their two leading scorers were on the bench in foul trouble. Both Williams and Robertson fouled out and we still couldn't get it done. Granted 4/5 of our starters fouled out as well but that game was easily winnable if we just took care of business and acted like we wanted to play.I wasn’t able to watch the game live. Recorded it and was going to watch it after the fact but I don’t think I can take it.
When I look at the stats, it appears we lost at the charity stripe. But the other thing that jumps out at me is how OU matched us on every line except that one. How did we not out rebound them? And turnovers??? They played our game better than we did. Even from the three they didn’t run away with it. Just so infuriating. Can only imagine how bad it was to watch.
Total lapse in focus... and OU played like they wanted it more the entire game, even when we had them down and what should've been out.The worst part about it is that they made their run when their two leading scorers were on the bench in foul trouble. I've been looking without success for Vic's post game interview. What can he say about 10 or 11 straight missed free throws starting in the third quarter? Is there something we do not know that affected the players? For every other criticism one can make, those missed free throws absolutely lost Texas the game.
Losing a game like that is demoralizing, practically giving it away in the waning moments after leading the entire way. It couldn't have come at a worse time with Baylor next, a road game at TCU, and then right into the Big 12 and NCAA tourneys. I've looked for Vic's presser also, but couldn't find it. There were some quotes on hookem.com but nothing too in-depth.My guess is that Vic may not have had a post-game interview. With the quick turn-around for the Baylor game, he may have opted to combine the post-game (OU) and pre-game (Baylor) interviews. If so, it should be posted today. We'll see.
100% agree with the free throws being the difference in the OU game. I sat a few rows from the court and although the team couldn't buy a bucket, it wasn't due to a lack of trying. It was easy to see the disappointment and frustration on their faces when the ball bounced out of the basket. The foul by Audrey in 4th quarter was a big blow. She fouled out and the foul negated the 3 pt shot that was made by Celeste in the corner. I haven't rewatched the game but that bucket could have been the difference and saved us from going to OT.
The Baylor game concerns me for many reasons but I'm most concerned about our physical stamina after playing 3 games in less than a week and our mental toughness after losing a game that was in the bag. No one on our team seems to be having much fun playing or coaching.

Texas women lose close one at home to Oklahoma Sooners
I don’t get the “looking cool” comment. I was at the game and that doesn’t compute. Sure they sucked at the end and couldn’t buy a free throw but I didn’t see anyone trying to look cool. Thanks for posting the link to the story. I stand corrected on the post-game press conference. It's odd that it's not linked to TexasSports.com.
This quote by Vic got my attention. “If you’re going to be a great player, it’s not about looking cool,” Schaefer said, reprimanding his team’s lapsed attention to detail. “We’ve got some that just want to look cool while they’re playing.”
What’s sad is that we sit here and try and down the opposition instead of being accountable which is exactly what vic is saying Veitenheiimer has been assigned the top perimeter offensive players since Iowa state game which has been a big piece of the turn around for ou and has held best guards including donasksi heard taylor and kysre in check. This game she led all rebounders other than one of your players on the floor and led in steals. So those feet must be doing something. Instead of mouthing about other teams players let’s hold ours accountable.I’m sorry but a few just don’t seem to care at all. When cement feet Tatum Vettenheimer is guarding you most of the game and you are 3 for 16, something ain’t right..... ELEVEN straight free throw misses and I don’t know how many layups and bunnies..... I can’t wait til next year when we have shooters and fresh new energy.... Its quite obvious that several don’t have the passion or desire to play on an elite level!!!
News bulletin.... I was not mouthing about other teams’ players, but merely pointing out that she does in fact have slow feet and in spite of that, Taylor was 3 for 16. Taylor has both size and quickness advantage. Donarski is NOT Iowa States best perimeter player...Joens is by far. If you truly believe Vettenheimer is a good defender, you are delusional at best. Knock yourself out...What’s sad is that we sit here and try and down the opposition instead of being accountable which is exactly what vic is saying Veitenheiimer has been assigned the top perimeter offensive players since Iowa state game which has been a big piece of the turn around for ou and has held best guards including donasksi heard taylor and kysre in check. Interesting that you would say.......”this game she led all rebounders other than one of YOUR players and led in steals”...... Sounds to me like you are not a UT fan and got a bit testy about what you perceive as criticism re Tatum......What’s sad is that we sit here and try and down the opposition instead of being accountable which is exactly what vic is saying Veitenheiimer has been assigned the top perimeter offensive players since Iowa state game which has been a big piece of the turn around for ou and has held best guards including donasksi heard taylor and kysre in check. They actually came here and posted “One of YOUR players” I mean is literally an emoji on this site.Interesting that you would say.......”this game she led all rebounders other than one of YOUR players and led in steals”......
