UPDATED:Ebay dilemma-advice needed

I would email Sports Illustrated (copy ebay and the seller) notifying them that this asshat is selling on ebay a copyright protected item which is a violation of SI's rights and a violation of ebay's own policy regarding unauthorized copies (http://pages.ebay.com/help/policies/unauthorized-copies.html). Provide the links to the auction and to the ebay policy page.

You can only file a Fraud Alert with ebay (http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/ebayisapi.dll?crsstartpage) if you have paid for the item, but you can use this form to contact them regarding the seller policy violation (http://pages.ebay.com/help/contact_inline/index.html).

ebay probably won't do squat without SI's involvement and this asshat seller is probably going to hit you with a neg anyway, so you might as well try to help the next guy out.

I just bought a Rose Bowl Champions cap for $50 on ebay. Imagine my horror last Thursday as I walked into the McAllen Academy and saw hundreds of them for $18. I am Captain Dumbass!!!!

Im having a hell of a time finding the SI/Time-Warner legal dept email adress. But, as you already know, I suck at the internet.

he's absolutely right to "tattle" on this guy. it was a misleading title. he shouldnt have to pay anything. the absolute worst that will happen is ebay cancels his account. just open a new one, buy 3 or 4 small things, get a few positive feedbacks and you're all set.

You know, I have about two dozen signed SI's...I think I should start a new ebay account and get to selling.

SI is one person to contact, but why not Lance (maybe his website or foundation has a contact info)? It's his signature that is being used without his knowledge. Besides, he likes a good legal battle...

Send him a fake Cashier's Check and tell him that your from Nigeria and they don't have PayPal. Give him a check for over a $200 and say you want change back after shipping. If he goes and actually tries to cash the check he is busted. The bank goes after him for passing the thing, your in the clear and mabye you get some free fake pictures.

In case anyone is slow on eBay, and doesn't have experience, this **** goes on a lot especially for high priced items, ln particular, a few big things I have sold. Some loser named Noor Noor from Egypt tried this crap on me once and I was 30 seconds from cashing it until I asked the bank teller randomly about fake cashier's checks.

The rest is history...thank god.

Personally, If you have a zero rating then just save your money, take a neg, open a new account, and start fresh. That's what everyone else with a "zero" rating does!

What a f'ing scumbag.Using the same autograph over and over? Check out the top left Si cover. This guy uses his Photoshop to seperate the first and last names and then stacks them to best fit the cover.

You got had by this piece of crap. Now it's up to you to decide whether or not to fork over your hard earnrd cash.

The more i look at this guy's stuff the more it pisses me off. That is the EXACT same signature on all four magazines so how in the hell can he supply a COA for all four. Also I like the way he watermarks his example photos, you know, so no one rips him off.

I cant believe e bay lets this guy blatently violate copyright law, misleading title(bait and switch) guidelines as well as outright fraud . I notified them 6 days ago and his crap is still up for auction. Hopefully SI will do something about it

It's going on two weeks since i won the auction and ratted him out to SI and ebay. I havent payed, and he hasnt contacted me or neg-ed my feedback.

His auctions are still up, but no one is bidding.

He won't give you a negative because he is afraid you will do so to him. He has a lot more to lose as far as the feedback score goes. If I were you I would just give him a neg and start a new account if he gives you one. Some people are way too nice on eBay and give positives just because they are afraid.

If you want, act real dumb like you don't know what your doing and tell him that both of you should just give each other positive feedback. If you sound naive there is a better chance of screwing him and also getting a positive rating instead of being pushy. It totally works. I've done it at least 5 times in the past. Though now my rating is a little too high to get away with it.

Good Luck!
