Here is a list of the 2010 Outstanding Offers that I know of plus a few possibilities depending on what happens. Please update what you know or have heard. I hold my comments to a minimum. Also any opinions on who we take no matter what even if we have to go over the 25 limit would be appreciated.

1. Darius White, WR, Fort Worth - I put him first because I expect that he may be the next commitment.

2. Corey Nelson, Outside LB, Dallas

3. Lache Seastrunk, RB, Temple

4. Jackson Jeffcoat, Strongside DE, Plano

5. Jake Matthews, OT, Missouri City

6. Torrea Peterson, DT, San Antonio

The Out of State Ones

7. DeMarco Cobbs, WR & ATH., Oklahoma

8. Trovon Reed, WR, Lousiana

9. Jordan Hicks, Outside LB, Ohio

Other possibilities of offers even though they are probably low at this point in time but could chance are:

DeAndre White, WR, Galena Park

Evan Washington, OT, DeSoto

Kris Catlin, Inside LB, San Antonio - He has several offers from Houston, Oklahom State, Missiouri and Illinois. The thing that hurts about this one is that he really would love to be a Horn but there probably isn't going to be enough room.

I know there is a lot of hope for Darius White. However he and his Dunbar teammates Favors and Sanders passed up Texas's Jr. Day and went to Oklahoma State. The three want to play together in college and they may well be Cowboys.

Thank you for the information 71. Let's hope Mr. White and the others realize the opportunity they have though to go to Texas.

I agree that it is not good to hear about the package deal with White. However, most of the class is wrapped up, therefore the coaches will have plenty of time to put a full court press on White and reel him in since they don't have to worry about recruiting others. So there is still a little hope.

That's not exactly accurate info on White anymore.

They did fancy the idea of playing together, but realize it's now a pipe dream. Darius is a huge Texas lean. He'll probably be in the fold by mid april.

He skipped the Texas junior day because he's been here numerous times since last fall.

Thanks Horngrad03....that's great to hear. The 2010 class is already a monster but I'd like it to be a huge out-of-control (in a good way) beast. And White can help make it happen.

Anytime guys, but I can't take credit.

I've just pieced together the tea leaves from a multitude of recruiting services. They consensus on White is that he'll be a Horn.

I think that Peterson's ship sailed when Dorsey committed. Although both either are unlikely, I would also expect Shaun Lewis to get an offer before Catlin. He fits the Muschamp LB mold better than Catlin.

package deal a "pipe dream"? Favors is a stud. I've seen Dunbar play 15 times during 2006-08. and all Sanders does is constantly make plays. It should be Texas' dream to land this trio.

How many from 1-9 have discussed committing early? I'm partial to Evan Washington. He wants to be here and he looks to have an NFL ish stature. He looked well put together in the bball tourney. I'd offer.

I'm partial to Evan Washington. _______________________________________________________________________________________ I agree. I'm partial to players who long to play for and graduate from UT. I'd almost always take those over players who, after months of comparison (and turning over ball caps), decide Texas is the best option at that time. I want passion....

I'm partial to this list.

It has been extensively reported that D White is a strong Texas lean. Regarding the report that he skipped out on the Texas Jr day.. that is completely false. During the 2nd Jr day Favors did not come to Austin b/c he knew he was not getting an offer. Thus, the Dunbar guys went to Okie Lite for their Jr Day. The whole thing had no bearing on White's interest in Texas. I do feel that Favors will be the next in line to get a scholarship offer, should enough of the big fish left commit elsewhere, or knowing mack... take too much time.

My take is we should land White as #22. There are rumors of both Hicks and Matthews as possible #23s, but I'm not holding my breath. Still, they are probably the next 2 likely to commit in the somewhat near future.

Lots of variables to still predict on the others. Does Lache listen to slimeball Les Miles' promises? Does Jeffcoat want to stay in Texas with a pretty tough DE depth chart, or go to USC (oh and by the way.. go against a pretty tough DE depth chart). Does Cobbs get down soon enough to make an impression on the coaches? I think Nelson is unlikely, Peterson even less. I don't see how we can get Reed at this point, unless Les Miles bungles his recruitment and we were to whiff on White and Cobbs...

We add 3 more from these top 100 guys and we'll have a top 2 class.. It will be #1 if 2 of those guys happen to be White, Jeffcoat, Seastrunk, or Hicks.

Man, Lache and Hicks have to be the top targets then. As mentined previously we have plenty of depth at WR and DE. RB is a position of need as is LB. If Nelson is not likely and Hicks is less probable since he is OOS, who do you think would be the next LB target?

A source has told me to trust him that Seastrunk is going to go to LSU or USC. He has informed me that even though we have a chance at Darius White it will be a long process because he wants to take his visits. Jeffcoat is actually an OU lean but still could go either way. Corey Nelson, he says, is a Sooner to be.
Remember this is second hand information but it is somewhat disturbing.
I am anxiously awaiting to see what he thinks about our chances with Matthews, Hicks and Cobbs (who I think is USC bound).

Even with the very nice WR's we have in the fold, none of them is the elite, game-breaking, cant miss player that White is going to be. DARIUS is #2 on my wish list, right behind LS.

That being said, any on the guys on that list would be assets.

Bad news pevodog. I double checked with my source and he is ademate about Seastrunk either going to USC or LSU. He says to "Trust me on this one."

BIS.. i don't know who your source is, but don't get too excited or disappointed. when you first posted the "inside" info, i was about to post that the d white situation was being wayyyyyy underestimated. sure enough, guess who he's come out with on top today. the jeffcoat situation is similarly being downplayed. we are in the thick of things, probably more against USC than OU. anyone that knows where LS is going right now is probably making a big assumption, and with a guy that's not going to commit for many months, i won't put any stock into it.

USC is probably going to struggle at the shoe and maybe even in South Bend, plus the usual Pac 10 flop. LSU is going to have a hard row to hoe , probably going to drop 3 without a proven QB, again. ANd that school an hour or so from Temple is going to be kickin a** and taking names.

I'd put our chances as outstanding to land White, and pretty good at landing Matthews when all is said and done. Our chances with Hicks improve if/when we can get him down to Austin. Nobody really knows how Jeffcoat's leaning...he's playing his cards really close to the vest. I'd put our chances with Seastrunk at less than thirty percent. With the verbals we have right now, if we land White and Matthews, it's a top three or higher class.

usc appears to be out. texas vs aggy at this point. you'd have to think if aggy can't win this head to head, they'll never be able to (brother is an aggy, OL scheme more pro than ours, start immediately on that horrible OL). i think jake does like texas.. we'll see if those issues listed above can trump texas actually being a national power program that wins 10+ every year, versus aggy which fights to go .500 every year...

while he probably won't see playing time as a freshman, matthews is good enough that playing time shouldn't be an issue. he will be a big contributor. that said, most kids want to play for a winner, and that is why i like our chances.

I wouldn't worry about Lache. Anyone who thinks he has inside info on him going to USC or LSU is truly out of the loop. That is what he wants some people to believe. He really does like Auburn. It doesn't stop the fact that his family want him in Burnt Orange, or that he wanted to be a Longhorn growing up.

He's enjoying the process. Who can blame him for it? He's the 2nd rated player in the nation!

For all you guessers who like to think "If he wanted to be a Longhorn, he'd be one by now," I ask why? There are two types of recruits: those that commit early and those that don't. Texas has changed everything this year. They have 21 commits with 22 and 23 supposedly coming in at the Spring Game or soon (according to the AAS).
The Link

According to them those recruits are Darius White and Jackson Jeffcoat.

That means that recruits who generally like to take their time aren't going to get the opportunity to do so. I read for instance that Jeffcoat was going to last until next year, but with Matthews and others showing that they may choose one of the remaining Texas scholarships his true colors are showing. This from a recruit that was until one recent talk to a reporter "close to the vest."

We'll find out about Lache soon enough if those rumors are true. If White and Jeffcoat due commit, then I'm guessing that Lache will be right behind them. He'll want to be the "icing on the cake," and that makes sense. The psyche of people who wait later to make their decision is usually for the school they were leaning to a year before (nearly all the time) and it's exciting to be one of the last if not last recruits in a great class.

To be honest our class is going to be extremely sick if White and Jeffcoat jump on board, with or without Lache. However, I think even Lache knows that if he joined that bunch it would be the top class in the Nation and perhaps the greatest Longhorn class in modern history.

i wouldn't put much into the AAS blog either. this is the same outfit that proclaimed holla bennett to texas a few years back. not saying that the white projection isn't a pretty safe one to make, but i don't think they really have inside info on jeffcoat. that being said, if we were to pull in white and jeffcoat next, this class will be just absolutely sick. add hicks, and it would be one of the best defensive recruiting classes ever.
