Unemployment falls to 7.8%!

The number is simply an estimate of unemployed. It is based upon random sampling and always has been. Could it be an error, yes. Either way, it does not mean there are not more unemployed even when the percentage released by the BLS falls.

I am happy to see the number fall. Hopefully it does mean less unemployed, however, given the current economic circumstances, odds are that that the actual number of unemployed has not dropped that much. Also, the amount of job growth must far exceed the numbers to have any chance of indicating a recovery.
 
Let's not deprive Obama the pleasure of spiking the football after scoring a 7.8 unemployment, he has so few chances to spike anything. In doing so he reminds me of the celebrating Aggy DE vs OU during the 77-0 classic.

At some point, even the slightest improvement is cause for celebration. Besides, the guy just got *** kicked in royal fashion, let him spike the football for a change.

Why not leave out two states worth of data for a real improvement in the unemployment rate? How about 3?

I have never heard of not including the data from all of the states for official government numbers? Has this ever happened before without an asterisk or some other official mention that the numbers are not complete?(and basically worthless for reporting, much less trumpeting as significant)

Assuming the figures for this unemployment rate do only include 49 states, shouldn't the headline be about the misleading quality of the report?

Enjoy this topic about a month before the election and where we are now with the news of one of the census bureau manipulation the job figures to get the employment rate at 7.8% right before the election. Then Obama ran with it in his campaign as his biggest accomplishment. We have all been conned. This is something that should even make Roger35 say enough. It's time to put America first.

i saw that article and was amazed. it didn't make sense to me at the time. seemed way too fast and it seemed to contradict many other factors we were seeing. finding out it was a manipulation is frightening.
 
I35, if you think Roger35 would even understand this, much less be disturbed by the lies, you are giving him way too much credit. His brain has been pickled by the kool aid.
 
Only a few believe anything this administration puts out, too bad the media is in this category. They don't report anymore, they publicize (unless it's a conservative issue). Then there are people like the OP....
