Two-year old daughter w/ stage III melanoma UPDT 2

Thanks for all the continued thoughts and prayers from the Longhorn community. Marit is doing better today and receiving interferon shots at home 3 times a week. We have periodic CT scans, x-rays, blood work, etc. to make sure all is well in her little body. My wife and I have started a fund at M.D. Anderson for research in inherited melanoma. On Friday we gave Marit her last shot of Interferon. She is doing fantastic and just celebrated her 3rd birthday last month. We have been down to MD Anderson (and will continue to do so) for CT scans and x-rays of her chest and abdomen every 3 months. I can't believe a year has passed. Thank you all for the prayers for Marit and our family. God bless.
 
WOW......I'm not sure where to begin...

We started the same journey you are on a year ago with our son, Jake, when he was 4 years old. I searched the internet for ANYONE who was going through the same thing we were, and found NOTHING! We felt very alone and constantly heard "This is very rare to find stage 3 melanoma in a child so young." He is currently undergoing interferon treatments now at home-- which I give him M,W,F's. He is in the care of the pediatric oncology department at UNC in Chapel Hill, NC.

We would really like to talk to you since you are the only other people we have heard about going through this. I just happened to google stage 3 melanoma in children and got you guys.

Our son is 5 now and deals well with his meds. We've had a few ups and downs, but all in all, he's done great! We will keep you in our prayers and hope to hear from you.
