Lance Brown grounds out to third.
Clean up hitter Rummel singles up middle. Steals second.
Ryan Dalton grounds out to SS.
Shepherd leads off with single to center.
Rupp K's on three pitches.
Pickoff attempt would have gotten him but is wild into rf and Shepherd goes all way to third. that is twice Horns should have been picked off.
Keyes flies out to right and good throw gets Shepherd out at home.
Kevin Lusson full count walk.
Walsh with SAC bunt moves him to second. Steals third.
Rowe with SAC bunt that ends up being an infield single and scores run. 4-1 Horns
How many pickoffs is that for the UTSA pitcher .... three? ... and none has resulted in an out. I know what they'll be working on.
If I'm correct, we've had a number of baserunners picked off in previous games. Augie needs to get our baserunners more alert to the leftie pickoff moves.
The Texas baserunners have definitely been sleepwalking tonight. On a weekend those outs would be critical, fortunately this is a mid week game and will give Augie something to yell at his team about.
Have lost the feed down here in the Caribbean someone else will have to take this home. Game tracker is stuck in bottom of 4 and I cant get video feed back.
Ah, so Stafford only lasted one inning. Thanks. One small concern about this team is the failure to develop a 4th starter should we need one in the postseason. Dicharry hasn't panned out.
It would be nice to have the Tuesday starter be an established 4th pitcher for the regional where you may need a number 4. The nice thing is with the set up with the Big XII, supers and Omaha you just need three starters.
If a fourth is needed in the regional Stayton Thomas has been solid and so has Milner. Stafford can give you a few innings and just get to the seventh for Ruffin. Dicharry is injured if I am not mistaken.
Ground out to SS for leadoff hitter Carpenter.
Rockett follows with single up middle.
Steals second.
Brown grounds out to short, runner cant advance.
Rummel doubles to right driving in run. 5-2 Horns
I suspect that a game 4 or game 5 in a regional pitching wise would look a lot like tonight. The staff is deep enough that you run people out as long as they can go and then just move on to the next one to get you to late in the game and Thomas/Ruffin.
