Tuesday Night UT Arlington

nice win for aggy. they were working on a 6 game losing streak coming into tonight.

Hard to see another Big XII team that will be hosting a regional unless K State stays red hot. Even then I am not sure they have the park specifications to host.
 
damn....down year for the big 12. when do we get nebraska and osu back....wouldnt mind seeing baylor up there hosting reginals too.
 
Pitching change for UTA in the bottom of the 8th. With 1 out and the bases loaded, UT is leading 18-2. 20 hits for UT so far this evening.

Nice to not be sweating this late like last Tuesday.

With Okie State coming in this weekend it is also good to see the bats are still alive after a great outing in B/CS.
 
in the 9th, Ruffin strikes out the batter for the first out. Ground out to short for the second out. Infield single followed by a single to center. Final out is a ground out to 3rd.

TD its 16 in a row now. Last loss was the Friday meltdown in Lubbock almost a month ago. Have been on roll ever since.

You are correct. I was thinking that loss came before the trip to lubbock but it was right after.
 
cochamps, your post about Moldy brings up something I have always been curious about. With a runner on 2nd and less that two outs, a fly ball that moves the runner to 3rd, is that really scored a SAC? I'd always thought the only way a fly ball was a SAC was if it scored a run, but I have seen it both ways.
 
With the 21hits this evening, UT raised the team batting average from .278 to .285. It has not been that high since the first game with Stanford - the 5th game of the season.

In order for a fly out to be scored as a Sac Fly, it must score a run. On the other hand, a Sac Bunt is scored when a runner advances.

Great win, but...................

I am a little troubled that Ruffin seems to have hit a rough patch. He had a tough outing in College Station and gave up two hits in his only inning of work tonight. They had 6 hits in the game and one third of their hits came in Ruffins one inning.

Seriously, I'll start to worry if Chance has similar problems against Okie Lite. He's still nails until proven otherwise.
 
If this is the worst problem we have as a team, I think we're in pretty good shape. I just hope that we aren't peaking too soon...hopefully we can keep up the momentum all the way to Omaha and bring home the hardware this year!

Wow, did I get jumped on for an observation.

Remember, we lost the Nat'l Champ last year fecause we did bave a closer that could finishn the 90th.
 
I know we played 25 'cause I was there 'til after midnight, but I sure missed THAT game... Which closer was that?

On a side note, gotta give credit where credit is due on the other Team's pitcher who got his boys through the 89th.
