Texas tech has created a program to increase student attendance at Women's basketball games. More power to them! And Texas is doing what??

LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech women's basketball program announced its NCAA Grant Campaign today "Get In To Win Free Tuition and Prizes", which will be targeted toward the Texas Tech student body.

The marketing effort will target the Texas Tech student body by providing prize incentives for students who attend Lady Raider basketball games during the 2008-09 season.

"Students who come to 10 or more games over the course of the basketball season will be eligible to win free in-state tuition for the following year to Texas Tech."

"...Texas is doing what?"

Raising season ticket prices for loyal fans who have been coming to games for years. I guess someone has to pay for GG's million dollar salary. Don't get me wrong, I love the fact that she's here, but let's not stick it to the loyal fan base because we can't come up with other ways to generate revenue.

I haven't heard of any creative ideas from our "marketing" department to lure new fans/students to the games. I'm not sure that we even have a marketing department.
